Nice game! The thing that really irks me a lot is having to have an online connection to play in solo mode. I mean seriously wtf?
Diablo III Amazon's most preordered PC game ever

Blizzard's upcoming action RPG continues to set new records of prerelease anticipation ahead of next week's official launch.
Diablo III isn't just Blizzard's most preordered effort ever; it's also Amazon.com's most preordered PC game of all time.
A representative with the online retailer told GameSpot this morning that the action role-playing game today became the site's most preordered PC game of all time, beating out previous Blizzard efforts like Starcraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
The news follows yesterday's announcement by Activision Blizzard that Diablo III was the developer's most preordered title ever. However, that assessment came with a catch, as the company's preorder tally included World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers, who are entitled to a free copy of Diablo III through a special promotion.

I just hope there will be something like the secret cow level in D3. :P Not the same thing mind you but...something at least as awesome as that was!
1 Like I got it digital download direct from blizzard... If I didn't have a job, I would freeze myself like Cartman did for the Wii release... I haven't been this excited for a game since Dark Souls.
1 Like I would have been there adding to the stats. But I lack a powerful computer to play it right now and feels it would be injustice to the game to play it on a laptop. In a few months I guess and will stay busy with Witcher 2 on Console in the meantime.
@otgkhan Have you seen the graphics? They are updated but this is still Diablo, and you won't need a powerful machine. I will be out of town when the games launches and I will be playing on my laptop.

One thing blizz try to do when making games is try to run it on the lowest system spec...
@dre256x I understand that it will work on the low end PC as well. But currently I am making do with a couple of laptops. Core i5 with 4 GB Ram etc. As I mentioned, I know the game is going to be worth it and I will savor all of the time I spend with it. Thats why I want to wait to build/buy a good enough desktop with a wide screen monitor and make the most of the time playing the game. Its not likely we will see the next Diablo anytime soon :) so this one has to be played just "perfect" in my book.

1 Like I am wondering why this is being called an MMORPG...if anything it is an ORPG.
It isn't like WoW or SWTOR where you interact with tons of people between instances.

2 Like @theshewolf You are correct, and Blizzard are definitely not advertising it as an MMO. However, some people who talk about it are using the term incorrectly. It is an Online game.....but most definitely not an MMO.
4 Like I've played in the Beta and beside half of what people say about the game it is not a FAILURE! The Beta was soooo limited that you could pass it in 1 hour or 2... same dongeon and repetitive stuff... BETACan we judge a game on its final release version please? They take the risk to let people play their game before it is released and all they receive in return is people saying it sucks and its too easy... O.O They broke Amazon's record on pre-ordered PC game... Fan will enjoy it and Fan comes in millions... If you plan on hating before you taste... You don't deserve to play it.
@darkbuky The first hour of Diablo 2 was easier than the first hour of Diablo 3 in my opinion not that D3 was difficult mind you.
1 Like @darkbuky I highly doubt that the people complaining "are half the people". I was in the beta and I had a blast just like 95% of the other testers. Remember that often times it's the ones who complain that speak the loudest, but that they do NOT always speak for the majority.

@ioannisdenton Unlike previous Diablo games, D3 isn't all about the loot. Really in D3 the loot is just a bonus because the simple act of playing is a great joy.
@Tialian What the hell are you smoking? D3 is more about the loot than the previous games. Your skill damage is based on your weapon DPS now. You can't customize anything about your character other than items and runes. And there are TWO new systems in relation to ITEMS, the auction house and artisan. Stop it with the misinformation.
@roadster213 lol i think u are missing the point buddy. what tialian mean is that its the gameplay that makes it fun... enjoying the story, the feel, the atmosphere. you are too much of an elitist if u think d3 is all about loot

2 Like Oh, man. I'm so freaking excited. Good for Blizzard, they've worked hard for a long time on a sequel. Instead of cranking them out every 1-2 years.
2 Like Well if the game is being given away for FREE to World of Warcraft players, of which there are millions, of course it's gonna be the highest reserved game in pc history. People wanna make sure they get their free bonus "while supplies last."
If Blizzard give it to you after you purchased 1 year subscription, it will be a digital copy that you can download from their battle.net website and not from amazon... why would they use amazon when they have their own service?
@Vodoo Because they're not giving it away free to World of Warcraft players. They're giving it away to WoW players who committed to a year of wow so that they could get Diablo III for "free". Most everyone I know who got it looked at it more like paying for D3 and getting a discount on WoW.

D3 is going to be for the casual crowd again, old shool veterans should not expect a huge game in terms of gameplay.
@alenthAnd you REALLY think Blizzard will make a game for familly and kids only... cmon guys... Blizzard team isn't that dumb, they are working on huge projects and I'm pretty sure most of them have a head on their shoulder. Zombies in-game.
5 Like @alenth With four difficulty levels it will cater for every kind of gamer. Those who want Casual will just play Normal and maybe Nightmare difficulty. Those who are more "veteran" or "hardcore" players will push for the toughest content, the best gear, the biggest challenges that the game has to offer. There is a place for every type of gamer in Diablo 3
@megakick I dunno about that. I have played the previous two and it is definitely still Diablo.
@idanielxo Actually, yes. It'll serve as a starting point to a Diablo-style game since they simplified it to newbies. Then once Torchlight 2 comes out, you can move on to that since it'll be what D2 SHOULD have been, since you can actually have a character that ISN'T a cookie-cutter build and play the REAL Diablo 3.
@MasterMarr FYI idanielxo, they didn't simplify it to the newbies, they took out the masochistically bad systems of Diablo 2 and put in fun systems that actually allow you to customize your character. I've played Diablo 3 (beta) and it is awesome. Everyone I know who has played the whole thing says it will blow your mind (all 2 of them :) ). Don't fall in to the anti-hype some of these people put out.
TL2 will probably be fun as well, but aside from it having an offline mode and being cheaper than Diablo 3, it probably won't even hold a candle to it.
@idanielxo I'd at least try to play the second one. You can grind through that solo in the time it would take for this game to come out. That was a great game.
@crunchb3rry I dunno, I'm pretty backlogged with other games to grind through at the moment. If anything, I'll just pre-order and when it arrives, just let it sit there for a long long while. Haha.
@Shawn45 i have a feeling the d3 has been more story driven than the first two, thats just my assumption... seeing as their is like a cutscene every couple hours
1 Like @idanielxo Diablo is not very story heavy, I am positive that you can get it without playing the other two. If you want to try the second, but avoid the first unless if you're really into old school PC games.
1 Like Auction house will ruin it. Because offering real money will cause the in-game "gold only" prices to skyrocket. So that you will end up having to resort to real money. I doubt Blizzard will put a cap on item costs. Would be nice though if Blizzard set the market value. Worried it'll be just like DIablo II where the players created their own ridiculous currency. "Want my cool mace? That'll be 22 Stones of Jordan." Grinded my ass off in that game for probably 300+ hours and only ever had one drop twice. So I could have maybe put that towards buying a Minor Mana Potion. My solution: play like I did back when D2 got wrecked, just use the gear I find. Forget about trading. Don't bother dueling kids who borrowed their parents credit card to outfit themselves with uber gear. Did that and was able to enjoy the game, except for the few jerks that ragged on my character for being high level with appropriately leveled gear.
@crunchb3rry i do believe that the auction house is very unnecessary but then again... this game is meant to be played with friends, not with random kids that have used their parents credit card... all in all it sums out to one thing... if u dont like it, dont use it!

@Aeondeity It's not a microtransaction scheme. You're buying the stuff from other players, not Blizzard.
@Arangarx Blizzard takes a cut, $1 for every transaction; 15% from every secured transaction (Paypal).
Chinese gold farmers will take over the majority of the auction house, nobody will be able to compete with the items and prices; all item prices will be affected by gold farmers doing real world trading.
Simple put: 20 chinese gold farmers in a building; farming items and gold and selling them in the auction house.
1 Player grinding away, trying to compete with prices on auction house, ending up buying items for real world money.
If I'm wrong, enlighten me, but I don't see this as very balanced.
@Aeondeity -grin- I love Total Biscuit and you are both right, but what I meant was, why use the AH at all? Diablo has never had one and has been fine.
I still feel like its just Blizzard using a money-whoring system, rather than balance.

The Diablo franchise has always given plenty of money and the beta is no different. A lvl 12 monk with tens of thousand of gold, even with leveling the blacksmith?

1 Like @Aeondeity I personally don't see Chinese Gold Farmers farming on the higher difficulty where 80% of the items are. From what i've seen in Wow, they aint very bright. Just have a high stamina level.
Above all, why are you troubled? the auction house is optional...no one ever said you must use it to progress through the game. I'm sure you can progress at your own pace. I for one think the AH is slightly usefull, cause im a working adult. I dont have the time in hand to farm, but have the cash in hand.
