Duke Nukem 3D free on GOG

I couldn't find the free download for this game at gog.com.

Oh the fun times we had over serial LAN and dial-up, at home and school, with Duke, Doom, and ROTT.  Good times. Good times.

Honestly speaking if you haven't found this game for free in some way shape or form by now in 2012, then there's something wrong with you.

Used to play this back in the old modem days when you would call someones house directly and play over the phone line - good times :) Also worked on numerous addons for this and shadow warrior. It's why minecraft is so popular, basically a level designer like BUILD aimed at the masses, its good to see imo, creating stuff is very satisfying :)

Fun fact: if you go to the credits screen and check the names of the map designers, you'll see a familiar name among them.

GOG is just one of the greatest game sites out there.  Hail to the king baby.

one of the most innovative and fun fps games of all time. Quake was great, had better tech but nothing matches Duke 3d's levels.

This game puts Duke Nukem Forever to shame, its a superior product on every aspect.

Its not 'Good Old Games' anymore, its just GOG, with no meaning behind it.  They changed when they started releasing newer games.

I grabbed this yesterday, thank you gog & thank you to Game Fly for the free pc download of Bioshock a few weeks back.

Wish games these days were as fun as this was! It seems developers are hell bent on pushing system limits then just making fun experiences these days.

Just wanted to say that all of you who download this should take a look at JonoF's Duke Nukem 3D Port (JFDuke3D) which enhances the engine a hell of a lot.

After you have installed the GOG version, grab the DUKE3D.GRP file out of the directory and you are good to go with JFDuke3D. The program is open-source and completely safe, its based off the original source code of Duke Nukem when that was released to the public awhile back.

Now all I want is for whoever still holds the licence to release the source-code for Shadow Warrior and Blood as well so the same project can be adapted for those Build engine games too.

GOG is awesome. Not only do they have a ton of PC classics for cheap, but it's making the youngsters stare at DOS configuration screens and scratch their heads. Back in MY day, we had to know what port our sound card was using, dammit!

Now as for Duke Nukem Forever, they should pay me to own that game!

its only ever shooters that are free recently metro 2033 got made free if youve got a facebook account..

I have fond memories of playing Duke mods and making levels.  The stuff the level editor let you do allowed lots of creativity.

Unlike most people, my expectations for Duke Nukem Forever was extraordinary high, and as a result, I had some fun with that game. With Borderlands 2 done and Aliens: Colonial Marines almost out the door, I'm hoping Gearbox is getting ready for Duke Nukem 5.

I already own Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition, via GOG. So rocks. I still gotta get used to using arrow keys and no mouselook though.

I grabbed Metro 2033 for free off Steam (via the facebook thingy) yesterday.

Looks like a damn good Holiday Season for gamers this year.

duke nukem 3d finally ,  my disc version didnt work w windows 7 64 bit and this one does ,, so good ,   

Got this and Fallout. Now if populous: the beginning could would also be free...

IMO Duke Nukem 3D was a great game when it came out, compared to Doom II.  The level design was much more advanced.  You had multiple story buildings, you could fly and the environments were great.

If I wouldn't have paid $1 for Metro already (Humble Bundle) I would be all over that deal. Looks like I should have waited as that is the only reason I spent a $1 in the first place. Oh well, at least it all went to charity.
