What does "terminated permanently" even mean? If they IP ban, then we'll use a proxy, (or have been already). If Sony bans a PSN account, we will make a new PSN account, (or have been using a different one already). They can't stop us.
Gamers caught with PS3 hacks face PSN ban
Sony officially responds to new "unauthorized software" released by hackers, says those caught using it will have access to PSN "terminated permanently."
Sony has responded to the new PlayStation 3 hack that was revealed late last month. The company said in a statement that this "unauthorized software" is a violation of Sony's terms of service and added that users caught running it face the possibility of a steep penalty.
Those found running unauthorized or pirated software will have access to PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network services through the PS3 "terminated permanently," Sony said.
"To avoid permanent termination, consumers must immediately cease using and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from their PlayStation 3 systems," the statement continues.
Sony defended this penalty, saying that it was borne of a desire to foster a "safe" and "fair" online environment for PS3 users.
