GTAV out in October, says artist resume

E3 2012: A Rockstar North employee's resume leaks an October release date for Grand Theft Auto V.
The next instalment in Rockstar's blockbuster Grand Theft Auto franchise will land in October this year, according to the resume of its lead vehicle artist.
The document, which dates from last month, was brought to light by fan site GTANetwork and reported by Official Xbox Magazine in the UK. At the time of writing, the fan site which sprang the leak has been taken offline.
This leak follows a similar case in early April when a GTAV animator's resume also suggested the game was due in October 2012.
First unveiled in late 2011, Grand Theft Auto V has kept a low profile in recent months, but a new trailer is rumoured to arrive soon. The game will be set primarily in modern Los Santos, a fictional city modeled on Los Angeles. Rockstar has said that GTAV will have the largest scope of any entry in the series so far.

Well lets just see if they make a launch trailer in August or october and see if it will come out this year.I sure hope so!
When I 1st heard that GTA V would be released in 2012...? I had very little hope in that ever happening.
The reasons for this are too many to mention but all you need to do is look back at how they have done this in the past! Which is, to trickle out little bits of information in regarding the content and/or release date. Then put that date off in favour of a later date.
Rockstar make good games... there is no denying that, but I can't ever remember them releasing any game on time before?
I would be happy to be proved wrong though...?
I'm not holding my breath but hopefully we'll hear something. Who knows? We might even get another 1:15 long trailer!
1 Like @qaziomer Why? why would you want the game to be rushed? Dude this is bullshit, it's not coming out in october, i guarantee its not even coming out in 2012. Mostly likely probably around March of 2013 is what im predicting.

@souther_hill October does seem rushed. But why? Well, my opinion, it won't be released in October. That has to be just some school yard gossip, if anything, it'll be released (earliest) December or (latest) the start of 2013. However, December seems more realistic than October and early 2013 as it's closer to the holidays and Rockstar will take full advantage of this. :) Just my opinion
@souther_hill Maybe they have work for that game after GTA4 and RDR, so they have experience to finish this game faster.

@videogamer008 I found your comments to be positive and refreshing. It is good to see there are still positive gamers out there that get excited for games. It is great that you are excited for GTA V. They had to put something on their resume, and the was probably the best guess at the time. Doesn't the fact that these are resumes perhaps show that they were working on the project and have since been been let go as the project downsizes towards the end of development. I dunno.

Grand Theft Auto is a defining franchise for the past two console generations. What they managed to accomplish on the PS2 and XBOX hardware...I wouldn't have thought it was possible until I saw it.
Of course, they have used current generation hardware to make the games look better, but I'm equally interested in seeing them use addition computing power to make worlds that are richer and more "alive." That's where the real magic of the GTA franchise is. Here's hoping that GTA V has a worlds that are detailed and full of life. And if it has the breadth and wide-open areas that San Andreas had...wow.
I hope that the game was released in October 2012 I can not wait ... ROCKSTAR GAMES please, please take the game as early as possible in October

@Sevolich Of course it will be, they got more time to work with it and its anticipated to sell more than max payne 3 so they are going to make it better :)
I would be so happy if it came out in October. I'd be even happier if it came out before the start of next school year, but, ah, I'm just glad it'll be out this year (hopefully).
