No pc version then I'm not playing. It's really hard going from a i7 with a Gtx 660 back to a ps3 or 360 as the jaggies make my eyes bleed. Watchdogs here I come. 2 bad 4 U Rockstar.
Online petition calling for PC version of latest Grand Theft Auto reaches new signature milestone.
An online petition posted at Change.org calling on Rockstar Games to release a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has reached a new milestone: 150,000 signatures. The campaign stood at over 100,000 signatures at the end of November.
According to Rockstar Games cofounder Dan Houser, a PC version of the open-world game is "up for consideration," though it was not mentioned at all when the company announced a four-month delay to September 17 last week.
A Rockstar Games representative told GameSpot last week that the company has "nothing new" to share about GTAV coming to platforms other than Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The petition says it is a "big shame" that GTAV is not announced for the PC, specifically calling out the modding community being a "huge part" of PC gaming. "Modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have," a line from the petition reads.
For more on GTAV, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
Oh Please, Rockstar, you HAVE to release it for PC, We all love GTA, and a good number of us are PC gamers. I know for a fact that the extra effort for a PC release would be well worth it, especially if you launched it through origin or steam to cutdown on unfair multiplayer. I know I am only one individual voice, but statistically speaking you guys wont end up losing any money by making a PC version as well, or someone needs to make a damned 360 emulator, cuz id go buy the gaxe for a console if i could just emulate. but thats not realistic at this point either.
If Rockstar are arrogant enough not to release it on PC then I have one answer Watch dogs..hopefully it will kick GTA v''s a**
The experience you get with GTA games on PC is unparalleled, they're fucking retarded if they don't release V for PC. Just with the amount of people on the petition already they'd be making 9.5+ million in sales. I know piracy is big on PC but guaranteed there's going to be a SHIT TON of people who'll legitimately purchase it.
why gta v is not coming out for pc why why why because people can not buy a ps 3 or xbox 360 and reasons why some times a person have a computer and the rockstar company could make alot of money on pc version of gta v please i begging for a pc version of gta v please
If they dont want to release this game on PC the only thing theyll do is -60$ less ( thats me ).
I wont beg anyone to actually give him my money , let alone Rockstar that makes millions. You dont want my money ? Fine !! But if you do , better release this on PC because theres no way to pay so much $$ for a console just for a game or 2.
Its more likely to lend a PS3 from a friend or Rent one for 15$ per week and play the game. From whatever prospective i see it , its Rockstars lose not mine... So no way to sign!! They dont want my money ? So be it , i wont beg about it since there are alternatives to play this titles. Its their loss.period
I've stopped caring TBH, There are better games now.
I'll just buy it when it ACTUALLY releases on PC.
Rockstar doesn't care either way. It'll be out, or it'll be the same as Red Dead. Love the game, hate the fudgy graphics on console.
Great, another bad Rockstar PC port. Did you forget GTA IV and LA Noire? Do you really want to go through that again? It's not worth the trouble.
@FashionFreak And did you forget Max Payne 3 which was one of the best PC ports last year. LA Noire wasn't that bad either (ignoring that it wasn't even made by Rockstar) it just didn't have many options, at least it ran well.
The MONEY is saying for R* to keep away from the PC. Right now the big triangle shaped eye wants the income to boost the consoles, not the video cards.
Well here's what I think of Rockstar if they don't release this game on PC. They won't see another penny from me ever again. I'll be selling my xbox 360 and WILL NOT purchase another crap console again. Neither sony nor xbox appeal to me anymore and I'm going full PC gaming. They want to alienate people like me FINE BY ME, less money spent on their games. So sick of the whole "oh there are pirates out there so we wont be publishing on PC anymore". It's getting old boring and stale. Stick meet dead horse.
You really think GTA5 isn't planned for PC because of piracy?
It's a simple matter of work and time required vs profits generated, optimizing a game for PCs takes a LOT more work than for consoles.
It's a perfectly understandable stance that they wish to cash-in they work on consoles and move on to other projects, from the financial standpoint at least. Betraying the platform the franchise was born on, on the other hand...
It's a sad day for this branch of the ENTERTAINMENT industry when pleasing the stockholders has become more important for companies than pleasing the consumers.
@timbers_WSU The thing is that PC users can pirate games that's why devs don't really care about the PC anymore. And yes the PC is definitely the master race.
Even console users can mod their consoles and pirate console games. Its not only PC users who resort to piracy.
Next time you feel like making fun of a group of people you should word your sentence correctly. Just a thought.
Man, I don't see why everybody is getting so worked up. This is Rockstar we're talking about. Everybody knows that within a year or too we'll get an abysmal port that looks and plays like ass on everything but supercomputers and everybody will be happy.
Well I don't blame Rockstar to try for a bit of a coin. They don't fall for 150k signatures and say plain and simple Want to play GTA V? Go and get your PS3 Xbox 360 then , we'll talk. I would act no different. Meanwhile, not much time ago, Activision forums was flooded with not many petitions for CODBO2, for the Wii U and then, BAM ,abysmal sales, just felt for trash talk... or was from hired "N" spammers, or abysmal console ? Nobody knows for sure... yet, but they wasted time and effort for nothing. Nowadays devs have to be smarter than deceiving multiple posts, and to distinguish them from the real ones.Or just ignore them depending on the circunstances.Meanwhile if you wanna play GTA V buy yourself a PS3 or Xbox360.
First, 150 thousand signatures is NOT a lot. Second, if it wasn't for the high piracy of pc games it'd be launching alongside the console release. Rockstar likely has the game completed but just wants to bring in some cash from the console release.
@Heirren Got any sources on how much more prevalent piracy is on the PC versus XB360/PS3? I'm not trying to be snide, just genuinely curious!
@Skajyie @Heirren I'm sure google will bring up plenty. Even growing up, and being a pc gamer, 99% of my pc gamer friends pirated all thier games.
Also, the fact this is even happening with such a big release...
@Heirren I'd assume it might be that they're having optimization issues with the PC version much like they did with the PC version of GTAIV and as such they have to delay it to be able to release it in a format where a fair number of PCs can run it well.
Like it or not, it is concrete proof. The game WILL arrive on the pc format, just later on. Why else in the world would they delay it?
@Heirren Not a fan of anecdotal evidence or being asked to "Google it." So basically, you're saying you have no reliable sources at hand?
As if Rockstar give a rat's posterior about PC modding.
It doesn't shove big dollar signs in their face, so why would they care?
They want big monies, and they want it now-- console makers can provide them with this, the long term investment that modding brings is of no interest to them because they will have to wait time to line their pockets.
If they make the multiplayer so damn good you can't refuse it - people will buy it. I always pay for GTA regardless - Cos I never want them to stop making it for PC
Here's hoping that cracking the 150k barrier on the petition and the 4 month delay aren't unrelated facts.
Not true, if you pool all the consoles seeders and lechers on PB and compare it to PC its consoles that are ahead. But comparing a console vs PC yea it does seem that way.
What's the point of this petition? No matter how many people sign it, that doesn't mean that many people will actually pay for it. I'm sure they're worried about spending time and money porting this game so that half a million people can steal it. Make this a full-pay pre-order petition and lets see how many people sign it. (Money back if Rockstar still says no)
PC version is usually less profitable.... Rockstar doesn't care you spent $1500 on a PC Rockstar doesnt get the money just headaches trying to make it run pretty on the majority of the PC.
Make the game for PC; like all the other GTAs. Not doing so would be a poor decision. If there does exist a good reason (+/-), then be transparent. Nothing compares with a good PC, understand.
Hackers? They exist in XBL and PSN too, like.... remember?
I'm right here. The $; take it.
Don't know if 150K is a big enough deal. Rockstar is probably making it to be a multi-million dollar seller 150K to a million doesn't look enticing enough to bite. But I may be wrong....
@tocool340 150k is millions plus imagine all the people that think the same but had not seen the petition ... just for pushing back always the date plus no putting it on pc i would put the game in my black book but the thing is .... this game is to good!
Pc port will probably be out once they port it to the next gen consoles which they have already said they plan to do. PS4 is essentially a pc under the hood and wouldn't take as much effort from there to port it to pc.
GTAIV(in my personal experience) was one of the most buggiest games I have ever experienced. I wouldn't even pirate that game... Vice City was the best GTA imo, San Andreas' was very very good, but I felt it lacked in the story department, simply too much fluff. These huge megacorps that publish games need to step back for a minute and finally get it through their heads that people are NOT willing to pay 50-60bux for a crappy game, and THAT's why the profits are low... give us good games, they'll sell... try to feed us more fluff, well, you're already reaping the benefits of that.
@1wikkid1 I don't play GTA for the story. I just enjoy exploring, and a little shooting frenzy. And the cooler the map, the better.
@1wikkid1 not true just look at the CoD and need for speed rubbish we get every year they are both crappy yet make huge profits
@1wikkid1 What do you thnk of the preview of watch dog?
@1wikkid1 Vice City (on the PC anyways) is one of the buggiest things I've ever played. San Andreas is good (it was my favourite when it came out), but I think a lot of people look at it through rose tinted glasses. It really doesn't even compare to GTAIV: the story, the shooting, the driving, the city, the writing, everything about it is a cut above San Andreas.
But that's just my opinion.
