iPhone 5 rumored for September 21 debut

Verizon reportedly forbids staffers to take vacation at the end of next month, adding fuel to speculation of Apple's next smartphone launch.
Apple's next iPhone could launch next month, according to a TechCrunch report. The technology blog is reporting that cell phone service provider Verizon is preventing its employees from taking vacation between September 21 and September 30, suggesting that there will be a significant event during that span requiring all hands on deck.
Previous iPhone launches have also been accompanied by vacation blackouts, both from Apple and its various partners. The release timing would also line up with previous rumors that had pegged an iPhone 5 announcement for an Apple event supposedly to be held September 12. Other big announcements rumored for the event include an iPad Mini, as well as a new iPod Nano.
Apple has introduced one new version of the iPhone every year since the product first launched in 2007. The current iteration, the iPhone 4S, launched in October of 2011.

Samsung Galaxy S 3 and HTC One X may get some competition finally as those phones outclassed the old hardware iPhone 4S earlier this year. Perhaps the iPhone 5 will be competition once again. :P

2 Like @Nintyfan95 That's Right! maybe thats why no company followed their ideas and copied their phone project, except for.... oh, I don't know, EVERY Phone Manufacturer. I'm sure they all had the palm/DS ripoff project and were just waiting to launch it just after apple had conquered the mobile market.

Bosh! Was waiting for this last year but instead they brought out that turd 4S, not what I wanted so all I have to do now is get hold of one which is pretty unlikely I'm guessing
I don't doubt there's a new iP coming, I just don't think Apple thralls not getting a vacation is neither out of place nor a very telling sign of anything different. There will be always be more iPs until they run out of numbers to attach to the name. Or think of a different nomenclature.

I needed a new phone before I left to go teach abroad this July and i did not want another iphone at all and I didn't want to get a windows 7 phone since 8 is coming out in the fall so I got the samsung galaxy note. No freakin way I am ever going back to apple or leaving android. As soon as my ipad craps outs, which is looking to be anytime now, I' getting an android tablet.

@gamerlanoDude Im still running on my iPhone 3G from 2008 with the slow 128MB of RAM LOL.I'm ready to upgrade to the iPhone 5. Can't wait.
@WheelerJaredGreat phone but I personally don't like it cuz it feels bulky to me like the EVO 4G. I'll welcome a bigger screen on the iPhone as long as the phone remains very thin.
