Verizon reportedly forbids staffers to take vacation at the end of next month, adding fuel to speculation of Apple's next smartphone launch.
Apple's next iPhone could launch next month, according to a TechCrunch report. The technology blog is reporting that cell phone service provider Verizon is preventing its employees from taking vacation between September 21 and September 30, suggesting that there will be a significant event during that span requiring all hands on deck.
Previous iPhone launches have also been accompanied by vacation blackouts, both from Apple and its various partners. The release timing would also line up with previous rumors that had pegged an iPhone 5 announcement for an Apple event supposedly to be held September 12. Other big announcements rumored for the event include an iPad Mini, as well as a new iPod Nano.
Apple has introduced one new version of the iPhone every year since the product first launched in 2007. The current iteration, the iPhone 4S, launched in October of 2011.
Samsung Galaxy S 3 and HTC One X may get some competition finally as those phones outclassed the old hardware iPhone 4S earlier this year. Perhaps the iPhone 5 will be competition once again. :P
Nah, I'll wait a few months. Knowing Apple, the Iphone 5(Insert random letter here) will be out by then.
@TheBlackEclipse How often do you think Sony and Sansung release new CellPhones? Apple needs to release it once per year, or they will be behind other companies. So stop complaining about it. Once a Year is good enough, while other companies release one by month ¬¬'.
@danielmbg I didn't complain about it at all... And I didn't say anything about other companies... Why so defensive?
@TheBlackEclipse yea in just 3 months after the iphone 5 releases lol
@Nintyfan95 That's Right! maybe thats why no company followed their ideas and copied their phone project, except for.... oh, I don't know, EVERY Phone Manufacturer. I'm sure they all had the palm/DS ripoff project and were just waiting to launch it just after apple had conquered the mobile market.
@mastretta you argument doesnt help if you re-state his assertion as fact. all you did was further his point. nice job.
at Gamestop.com they say that on September 10th they will sell an Iphone 5 Red Samurai cover????? i think we all know its coming early september
Bosh! Was waiting for this last year but instead they brought out that turd 4S, not what I wanted so all I have to do now is get hold of one which is pretty unlikely I'm guessing
I don't doubt there's a new iP coming, I just don't think Apple thralls not getting a vacation is neither out of place nor a very telling sign of anything different. There will be always be more iPs until they run out of numbers to attach to the name. Or think of a different nomenclature.
Cool new activision is making a new call of duty for Iphone 7, Going to get my wallet and pre order both.
I just love how the same people you see in line like a week early every year for the new iphone and ipad are the same people you see on the news on black friday and Christmas time saying how those days are all about consumerism, corporate greed, and everything wrong with our society lol.
@toddx77 theyre called hipsters... the ones who like whats its name band before everyone liked them making them bad... or the ones who wear sandals without socks during the middle of winter... with their seashell necklaces in the middle of manhattan... we all know the type.
Please cry more. Apple laughs at all you whiners. In other news, the iPhone made a higher profit than every Microsoft product combined, while Apple brought in higher annual revenue than Google and Microsoft combined.
@feeltheninjitsu Yeah? Why should anyone care about Apple's profits except stockholders and financial analysts? You must be the ultimate fanboy.
@casualfan Apple cares about its profits, which is all I said.
Seeing the usual Apple dissing, I merely pointed out that Apple could care less about the hate because they make more money than their two primary competitors combined. I'm sorry if that's too hard for you to comprehend.
@feeltheninjitsu wow youre living in a bubble. you didnt merely point out anything. or are you trying to justify some poor behavior on your part by saying 'pwned' to every valid point someone else has to say? are you really that guy?
Apple thinks its customers are so incredibly stupid that it doesn't trust them to access the battery compartment of its phones.
yeah... moved to Android earlier this year and never looked back, much more fun with more options to personalize. screw you iPhone
@bielzabob Same here. I needed a new phone before I left to go teach abroad this July and i did not want another iphone at all and I didn't want to get a windows 7 phone since 8 is coming out in the fall so I got the samsung galaxy note. No freakin way I am ever going back to apple or leaving android. As soon as my ipad craps outs, which is looking to be anytime now, I' getting an android tablet.
@The-Neon-Seal And just like COD fans, Apple fans don't know they are getting ripped off year after year as well lol.
@The-Neon-SealUmm why are YOU bothered by it? It's not your money. Apple fans don't need a new iPhone but they WANT it.
Do hardcore GAMERS(not CONSOLERS) need both 360 & PS3? Nope but they want it to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Do people need a pair of BOSE, BEATS, or GRADO headphones when they can just spend $10-$20 on JVC or SONY headphones instead? Nope but they WANT it...
@gamerlanoDude Im still running on my iPhone 3G from 2008 with the slow 128MB of RAM LOL.I'm ready to upgrade to the iPhone 5. Can't wait.
