Story, character, and gameplay details about upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 action game from Suda 51 revealed.
Grasshopper Manufacture has announced a release window for its upcoming action game Killer Is Dead.
According to the latest issue and online preview from Famitsu, the game will be out in Japan this summer for Xbox 360 and PS3. The game's story takes place in a future where both traveling to the moon and human cybernetic implants are possible.
Players control an agent called Mondo Zappa, who is given the task of executing criminal targets for the Execution Office. Aiding him are his female boss, Vivian Squall; his assistant, Mika Takekawa; and the head office chief cyborg Brian Roses. The main antagonist is a cyborg named Victor, who can manipulate human emotions with the use of sound.
The game is billed as an action title where the highlight is melee combat with swords. Mondo's left arm can transform into a gun or a drill; options for upgrading it further are available in the game. Striking enemies will allow players to absorb their blood, which is used to charge up Mondo's Adrenalin Burst that can clear the screen full of enemies. Killing enemies with the special move unleashes dark matter; there is no word on what this energy will be used as.
There is currently no word on whether the game will be out in English.
So what the hell is up with his name, anyway? I've been wondering for a few years now. Is he going to name his son Suda52?
IMHO.... This game is crap. Sorry I feel like I'm the only one speaking honestly about it. The game is beautiful, that goes uncontested but the controls are awful, strafing while ADS is at a snails pace and spotty. I'm tired of having it on my console. This game failed to me. Just stick with Halo and COD. Simple
I'm generally open minded about Suda51 games, but I bought Shadows of the Damned and it was such a bland and boring game, so I doubt I'll bother picking this up.
@Simulator_Shock I really liked it. Some of the humour was gratuitous but all in all it was entertaining. Same with Lollipop Chainsaw. I'll definitely keep an open mind about this one if it reaches the Convict Nation.
No offense but some of Suda 51's latest games kind of suck. Other than killer 7 and No more Heroes we saw Shadow of the damned which was just an ok game and Lollipop chainsaw that was a joke, also Black Knight sword isn't anything special. I hope they don't screw this up.
@mrklorox No. Renaming sucks.
@krizalidzero @mrklorox Then Grasshopper/Suda51 straight fucked up when deciding to name it this. It's such a glaring pun for them not to have taken it. I don't give a damn if Killer Is Dead is the "true name" because it's a poor name. If they had a better grasp of English the first time they tried to name it, it might have caught on before it was too late.

When is the US release? If this is Japan only, we don't really need to know about it. Sounds interesting, but I won't research it until there's a confirmed release date for the U.S.
