Square Enix bringing compilation pack to PS3 in Europe and North America this fall; includes PS2 games Re: Chain of Memories and Final Mix.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix also includes full Trophy support, as well as added content like new enemies, weapons, abilities, and cutscenes. No price for the game was announced.
although I appreciate a new kingdom hearts game on ps3, this seems like an odd to do a collection. the 2 main games are 1 and 2, if final mix is japanese kh2 then why is the first game left out?
@VenkmanPHD Final Mix is KH 1, but one that had more keyblades, enemies, and a set of fights with Orginization XIII.
It would've been great if they included KH2 in this collection. I liked this series when it was simple to follow the story.
"The compilation pack includes the PlayStation 2 games RE: Chain of Memories and Final Mix, as well as cutscenes from the DS game 358/2 Days". Seems like they're trying to merge up everything so it can look like a completely new title. That's what I call milking.
Welp, at least I can play something while waiting for Kingdom Hearts III. I wonder if they'll announce it this year.
so i already have both games for PS2, is there any point getting this again for PS3 when PS4 is on the horizon knowing that it wont even work on my PS4 when i get it, if im going to need to plug in an old console to play it anyway may as well just save my money and hook up the old PS2
So KH 1 is not included? that's just great. that's the game I missed, played 2, but the others Re:Chain of Memories and 1. no.
@kierwinyoung Did you even read the article? KH1 Final Mix and KH RE:Chain of Memories + 358/2 days cut scenes are included..
This looks like de'ja'vu XD
I liked KH 1, 2, and Chain of Memories but all the spin-offs turned me off the series.
If they bring any info of releasing KH3 within a reasonable time-frame ( you have to admit SE has a bad habit of announcing games 5+ years before launch) then I can add this as another potential incentive to get a PS4, unless SE pulls a Bungie move and releases it for the NextBox as well XD
@Kakarot9000 for real stop making ps3 and 360 games. Just stop everything! Wait for the new consoles to come out, and then release on both new and old. Then maybe in the nests 8 months I will be able to play some of the 20 games deep pile of shame I have. Otherwise when the new systems come out. Bye bye to all old games I haven't beaten yet. Too bad.
This does sort of make up for KH current absent on the PS3, I guess we won't be seeing KH3 on the PS3...
How in the hell they had the gall to actually make an ANNOUNCEMENT out of this, I will never understand. If they had just quietly put it on the shelves, it would've spared them the embarrassment. I will still buy it because I've been wanting a KH game on PS3 and I've never played Final Mix--but this does not mean I forgive this incessant sequel/prequel/interquel/nonsensiquel sh*t.
Give me KH3.
I guess this isn't going to be fixed? This would be really confusing to newcomers to the series and misrepresents what the collection is.
Good news but not a huge surprise. I actually replayed all these games a couple of years ago and TBH the one I would most like a proper remake of is 358/2 Days. I'm still a little disappointed it's just the cut scenes but it's better than nothing.
@WeWerePirates Me too, 358 was a good game, but it really needs polishing up and some fixing here and there. I love the story in this one, especially Xion.
I am kind of reluctant to buy anymore hd collletion games seeing as they won't be playable...at least for some time on the ps4.
@Cillah187 I'd prefer to have all my games on one central system. and seeing as this one won't do the backwards thing, they'll likely release ANOTHER collections game for the ps4 in the future better to just wait for that one.
@svaubel Or just do a full HD collection like the one for MGS or God of War. This 1.5 crap gets on my nerves.
