Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine says endgame is "like nothing you've actually experienced in a video game before."
Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine has offered a tease regarding the BioShock Infinite endgame. Speaking to Outside Xbox, Levine claimed the game's ending is unprecedented and may not be embraced by all.
"The plot actually gets more interesting as it goes on,” Levine said. “The end of the game…I can't tell whether people will like it or not like it. I can say it's something we're incredibly proud of. It's like nothing you've actually experienced in a video game before. It's quite unique and quite particular to this world, these characters, and this franchise."
Levine did not share further details on what the BioShock Infinite endgame may have in store for gamers. However, he did say Irrational is working to make sure the story doesn't decline in its second half, as the interviewer suggested happened in the original BioShock.
"You had a situation there where you had this amazing character and once he's gone the story loses some of its steam," Levine said. "That is something we took to heart in this game."
BioShock Infinite is due out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC (but not Wii U) on March 26, 2013. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

Whelp along with still no information I have seen on NG+ which has been asked for t be properly put into the game since the first, and this little comment, I think I can wait for it to hit the cheap bin, sorry. I'm sick of these really short FPS with no replay value, and even more so when the pay off for seeing the story isn't worth it, I'm sick of crap like ME3 terrible ending, which the extended cut fix basically NOTHING...
Unprecedented, eh? Sounds like code for more ME3-ish "LOL SPECULATION!" which in all actuality is bull*shhh* spelled backwards. Tread carefully Mr. Levine.
That's saying a lot considering the average video gamer plays a lot of games, and has seen a lot of endings.
Unprecedented? It will have a unicorn blasting laser through eyes while the main charater riding his back and firing 2 miniguns at same time singing "Don't stop me now" by queen?
Well in case anyone has forgotten, Mr. Levine did defend the original Mass Effect 3 ending back in March.
It actually ends up bricking your system. You see they are so high on themselves and this game that once you finish it, IG feels you will no longer need to play games, hence it inserts a virus into your system that leaves it unusable. And I guess that is definitely an ending I would have never guessed.
2 Like Whenever I read Bioshock Infinite News I am expecting a new delay in the release date. Its kinda an automatic response by now. Anyway, I would hardly believe that an awesome ending justifies to take so long to release a game, especially if there were flaws in the story and gameplay (my main dealbreakers).
2 Like As much as I enjoy the BS games. I don't hold this statement as much value. We've been told these type of "fantastical" things in the past (Mass Effect 3 for example). I do however support them in they're no multiplayer. That was the best new's all year!!!!

@cptpeg The future is yesterday ever heard of little game called Asura's Wrath, yeah been there done that, you had to buy the ending for that game.
@cptpeg i foresee a time, far off in the future (2013) where that will likely be the case.on topic, however, i've heard grandiose statements about a games astonishing quality before, so colour me unimpressed. as usual, i'll wait till i get my grubby hands on it before i 'pass judgement'.

after that and your typical manically evil bad guy boss show down was kinda blegh I'm not saying it wasn't cool and the game didn't end well and overall one of the best games of its time. I just felt the game peaked and you sort of were just going through the motions by the end of it.
I get what he's doing and it's not a bad way to go about it, but it could backfire bigtime like Drakillion wrote. I can't seem for the life of me to get interested in this game. Oh, well it'll leave open some time to play something else. I don't get to play all the games I want to due to the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day, and you know work gets it the way and it doesn't help that it seems to take me forever to finish a game.

11 Like Mr. Levine, I think you shouldn't hype the ending too much. If you do that, people will have HUGE expectations and if those expectations aren't met, then you will have a ****storm to deal with.
What's with this anyway? I like the endings to be a "surprise". I don't want be at the end of the game and go, "Okay, this better be epic as Mr/Mrs. developer says it will be". No. I want to be like, "Nice! I finished the game! Now let's- HOLY CRAP! *jaw drops* I never saw that coming! That was AMAZING!"
1 Like I must admit. Ken Levine has suddenly grown on me. I never was a big fan, although I've always admired his work from afar. Brilliant man.
Bioshock Infinite will be my #1, launch day purchase above all other video games.
P.S. Thank you so much for putting this game on the PC. In all sincerity, I hope Bioshock Infinite sells heaps like Bioshock 1 and 2 did across all platforms. And then some.

1 Like the end of red dead redemption was one of the most surprising and long lasting of any game ive played befor but thats just me I loved that game....
@translucent17 The ending to Red Dead Redemption filled me with rage! It was Aerith all over again!
yea I was a little taken back by the ending to RDR but it fit with the story IMO...... I thought it worked well it's nice sometimes to see a game play out like a drama that doesnt have a completely happy ending.... Heavy Rain had that same vibe but RDR had the curveball ending for sure....

@MXVIII OK, if it's not vague, please tell me what makes the ending so bloody epic and if it's not misleading, tell me wether or not there's a endgame (like something to actually do when the story is over). Waiting impatiently for your insight.

This claim doesn't disappoint me it only makes me sick, since the most this M-stuff can muster in the way of being 'unprecedented' is being controversial...assuming we still use that word in a way that means it is ridiculously inappropriate...
