It wont be an instant classic...it's going to have that fast arcade type of feel to it but it's a NEW breath of fresh air in the wrestling game genre, and that alone is kick a--. Luchador style of wrestling is fast, hard hitting and high flying...if they get that ring...ohhh weee it's gonna be crazy fun!!
Mexican wrestling league title now pegged for an October 12 release on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and DSiWare; PSP version launch unspecified.
Today it was revealed the latest Mexican wrestling video game won't pile drive retail on schedule. Upstart publisher Slang has repositioned the release date for all platforms for the upcoming six-sided ring fighter.
Originally slated to release August 9, Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring will now grace the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and DSiWare two months later on October 12. A PSP version of Lucha Libre will arrive "at a later date." According to Slang, a desire to "build greater street buzz with consumers" was half of the decision. Other factors were an extended development cycle and scheduling the title to ship closer to the all-important holiday season.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of the game are being developed with the Unreal Engine 3 by Immersion Software, with offices in Guadalajara, Mexico, and Bogota, Colombia. Argentine developer Sabarasa Studios is handling development on the Wii, PSP, and DS editions of the game.
Lucha Libre will feature the league's familiar six-sided ring, as well as a number of international stars, including ex-WCW wrestlers La Parka and Konnan. Other AAA stars that could be included but are not yet confirmed for the game include Octagon, Abismo Negro, Jack Evans, Teddy Hart, and Silver King.
@ donkeybits...SvR is a recycled series so having this would be good...but SvR developers have no realised that their series is lacking and now "apprently" it is all new with new physics engine...if so it may destroy this game especially when they are being released so near each other..
I really do hope this isn't a let down and is a game actually worth playing. The trailer looks great, it's nice to have an alternative to the very recycled SvR series. Now all i need is a CMLL game.... if only to play as Mistico (Rey Mysterio 2.0).
@ GOR TAK yes if you pre order from gamestop you get one of four Lucha Masks which are LA PARKA, DR.WAGNER JR, ABISMO NEGRO and OCTAGON.
I'm hearing the reason for push back is because they're top guy Dr. Wagner Jr. who was suppose to be on the cover jumped ship to their rival promotion CMLL yesterday with the title as well. This is a big thing down in Mexico and now he may have to be taken out of the game and the box art changed. It's as if John Cena left WWE and went to TNA. I hope he's still in the game though.
no thanks, im gonna stick with the svr series, because i want the cutomisation and the familiar faces, besides, i cant see a reason to buy THIS one, feel free to disagree
I wonder if it'll be in Spanish, I mean, not Spanish from Spain, the Spanish accent from Mexico :D because I'm mexican and some games I've played and have a Spanish option sound weird to me with that Spanish accent from Spain.
Gamestop employees are spreading rumors that their might be somekind of "lucha mask" exclusive, as in a wrestling mask you can actually wear.
@Damienjunior Yeah because watching gimp masked spandex acrobats wrestling with midgets is much man-lier and not gay in the slightest! lol Seriously though I am looking forward to this and agree the smackdown brand of wrestling games have stagnated the genre.
cool finally a game about true fighters, i hate the american wrestlers game, itīs like watching a bunch of homosexuals in tongs huging each other, la parca would murder them; this is entretainment, real tough performances with the only objective to truly amaze the public
you know what's more entertaining, School fights because you know why? it's real and pathetic and free VS fake and pathetic and--should i finish?? XD!!
I was looking forward to this, now they can polish it up a little more and advertise better. I really need something other than sd vs raw.
the mask thing is stupid. because back in those days, it's a shame to be part of that entertainment career. but now it's a tradition. It's like super heroes or batman, but these guys are not heroes, they are just bunch of Hercules.
