The memories I've had from this game over the years, back when it was still owned purely by Wizet. Maybe I'll play it again one day, but I'd hate to see it change too much like Runescape did.
New update to feature space alien invasion and rebalanced class skills.
The popular side-scrolling massively multiplayer online game MapleStory received both a major update and a social game adaptation last year. To continue preserving the MMO's longevity in North American markets, Nexon America has released a new content update.
The update, titled Alliance Unbound, features new instances set in a space alien invasion backdrop and an expansion of the Ellin Forest where players can travel back in time to revisit the fallout of the Black Mage invasion. Players can accumulate rocks called nebulites that can be fused onto a player's weapon to bolster their stats and abilities.
The update also revamps the Resistance class and updates the Aran and Evan character skills. For more information on the upcoming update, head to the official North American portal. For more information on the MMO game itself, check out GameSpot's article.
I see the appeal in the Asian markets ..but for me I know i would just end up sitting there grinding no matter what ..that's why I stay away from it.
LOL, MapleStory... It has been ages. It's cool, colourful, fun, full of content.... But it does little to help itself evolve. It keeps that silly childish attitude that want to make things too simple and sparkly, and while constantly adding content is cool, The game is still a grindfast with One-combo mechanics. It does have a great soundtrack and original enemies though, so i'll give it that. Last time I tried the game it was one year ago. Just one VERY boring weekend. I remember as a kid I used to grind for weeks trying to reach lvl 30 to get that nifty upgrade to the next thief lvl.. When I tried it last year, I got to lvl 34 in 2 days. No marathon Endurace play. Just casual play. SO either I got exremely good at MMO's, or this game just becamea dumbed down grindfest. I will go for the latter. On another note, Nexon's Vindictus is actually kinda neat, but lacking on content. If only they would focus on improving that game instead of adding more content to a game that's already full of it.
i cant believe people still play maple story impressive to say the least. I personally found it way to grind heavy but i see the appeal.
