Mass Effect 3: Rebellion DLC hits May 29
Free add-on for sci-fi shooter launches next week with new maps, weapons, unlockable characters, and more.
While Mass Effect 3 fans need to wait a while longer for new endgame downloadable content, BioWare is offering a free multiplayer add-on to keep them busy in the meantime. The publisher today announced that the Mass Effect 3: Rebellion DLC will be available beginning May 29 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The pack includes a variety of content centered on Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode. Rebellion boasts two new maps, six unlockable characters, an added in-mission objective, an extra gear slot, and three additional weapons. The pack's existence and contents were first leaked last week by Sony's Hong Kong website.
Rebellion isn't the only Mass Effect DLC on the way. BioWare is also prepping the Mass Effect Extended Cut for release this summer. The add-on for the sci-fi role-playing game will expand on the original's controversial ending with "cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes."
