Microsoft seeking 'Marlow Briggs' trademark

Xbox maker files trademark application under goods and services description for game software.

Microsoft has filed a game-related trademark application for "Marlow Briggs." The Xbox maker on January 24 applied for the mark with the United States Patent & Trademark Office. It is listed as "game software," though no further information is available.

Microsoft has not made any announcements about a future product called Marlow Briggs.

A company representative told GameSpot, "Microsoft often acquires various trademarks as part of its ongoing business strategy, but beyond that we have no comment."

Last week, Microsoft filed a trademark application for "Gunpowder" to be used for "entertainment services, namely, providing online video games."

It's a new XBLA title from Microsoft. They tried to make it similar like God Of war. Same puzzles etc. I've played the alpha build, it's a cool game, but not as cool as GOW. And unlike GOW it''s based on modern time, getting ancient power blah blah..

I hope all this new trademarks are a sign of new exclusives to come, AAA exclusive that is

Maybe "Marlow Briggs" could be the name of Microsoft's fake VP! That way there can be an epic Kevin Butler vs. Marlow Briggs ad spot showdown!

Sounds like some Kinect crap. Hopefully I'm wrong.

@queuing_for_PS4 Your opinion is not fact. Microsoft has put out a lot of good games. My opinion is that Microsoft has put out better exclusives. But that is not fact.

@nhlcrazy @queuing_for_PS4 I am an Xbox 360 owner and even I think Sony has a wider range of high quality exclusives.  Would you care to elaborate which Xbox 360 exclusives other than Gears, Halo, and Forza franchises outdo Sony's Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone, Little Big Planet, and other franchises?

@mboettcher @nhlcrazy @queuing_for_PS4 If your saying AAA exclusives, sony has more.If your talking about overall exclusives, they are both quite close. MS have a larger library of XBLA exclusives. Only last year, sony started pumping out several great budget titles like Journey.

however AAA titles are a dieing breed

@mboettcher

In fact most of Sony's exclusive are crap ... my opinion of course. Quantity over quality is not a definition for good. Other than the great Uncharted series most are pale imitators of the original.

@mboettcher @nhlcrazy @queuing_for_PS4 lol true the ps3 has more exclusives and they all pretty awsome from what i hear, the 360 only has Gears and Halo and truth be told that more than make up for all the ps3 exclusives in the word, very few people if any would trade Gears or Halo for all those ps3 exclusives

sony has more triple-A exclusives coming out though. now, that doesn't mean anything, but by accepting the broadest definition of good, which is what the public thinks, what the sales will show, sony is doing better on the exclusives front.

also, i still don't like microsoft for their harsh policy of wanting to be paid thousands, just for a dev to release a patch for their game.

freshman philosophy? as i said before, i'm going by the broadest definition of good, which is what the public thinks is good, which is reflected in sales; this is called a postulate.

i never said everyone likes triple A games, i just said sony has more coming out, which is a fact.

@blackrunie @nhlcrazy @queuing_for_PS4 Coming out now but it don't matter because PS4 and Xbox have new systems coming this year. More don't mean better. AAA games don't mean every one will like them. It's opinion, not fact.

Marlow Briggs is Jax's(Mortal Kombat) brother. Microsoft is trying to conquer Japanese market this time with a pornographic game. Instead of tentacles, Briggs has a cybernetic ***K.

Doesn't exactly sound like an action hero, maybe a banker or lawyer. Exciting game that'll be, Accountant Simulator.

@mattcake  Um theres already a game with a lawyer main character, and it sold incredibly well. It was called Ace Attorney. Also people said a life simulator would be boring as hell, but then along came The Sims. If the accountant simulator let you embezzle the hell out of peoples money, that game would sell like hotcakes.
