Looks like I'll be waiting until October to get me a new Laptop/Pad then :D
Been eyeing a Samsung Note for a while, but maybe I'll ease off the trigger a little on that for now...
10.7-inch portables rolling out with keyboard-sporting screen covers, integrated kickstands, 10.6-inch HD displays; no pricing announced.
Microsoft today revealed Surface, a new line of tablets being positioned to take on Apple's iPad. The first two Surface models unveiled include a Windows RT edition powered by an Nvidia ARM processor, and an Intel Core processor-driven Windows 8 Pro unit.
Both Surface tablets will feature a 10.6-inch "HD display" with Corning Gorilla Glass 2.0, as well as a full-size USB port, microSD card port, and multiple configurations of system RAM. Microsoft is also touting built-in kickstands for the Surface tablets, as well as screen covers with built-in keyboards. The cover combos will come in two varieties: the Touch Cover will provide a 3mm-thin gesture-sensing keyboard for typing, while the 5mm-thin Type Cover offers moving keys for those who prefer a standard keyboard feel.
Pricing details for both versions of the hardware will be revealed closer to their launches. The Windows RT Surface is expected to arrive alongside the general availability of Windows 8, with the Windows 8 Pro Surface available 90 days later.
