@cooldude03 They might not have released it for XBox 360 because the development costs were too high to justify it. PS2 and Wii have really LOW development costs. This game would have to sell upward of 3 million copies just to break even on 360. These costs are what's causing ALOT of devs to close down or get gobbled up by mega-publishers. And let's face it: 'mega-publishers' (i.e. EA, etc...) are flooding the shelves with high priced games of decreasing variety. We're lucky Activision even went with this game. Let's hope they'll market it worth a damn.
Activision's Urban Assault takes the monster trucks series into the streets for PS2, PSP, Wii, DS.
Monster Jam is assaulting gamers once again, as Activision today announced Urban Assault, a follow-up to last November's multiplatform monster truck game from Torus Games. Where that title included a handful of outdoor tracks in which gamers could race their favorite licensed trucks like Grave Digger and Monster Mutt, Urban Assault will be exploring--and crushing--the world outside the stadium more thoroughly.
Given the command to "demolish every vehicle you see," gamers will take their favorite trucks through cities, reaping rewards along the way for racking up the damage toll. However, Urban Assault will also feature modes truer to the source material, with stadium racing and freestyle competitions, as well as a selection of new minigames.
In addition to the new gameplay approach, Urban Assault is also shaking up its target platforms, appearing this fall on the Wii, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS. Last year's game appeared on the Xbox 360 and PC as well, but not the PSP.
Developed by Torus Games, Monster Jam: Urban Assault is set for a fall release.
hey guys is this game worth getting because it has gotten such rotten reviews in the past. i am just asking a question and not passing judgement. it looks pretty cool should i try it.
SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! Come catch the M,M,M,M,M,M, MONSTER TRUCKS! Gravedigger vs Bigfoot!!!! XD Brings back childhood memories.
Is this the yearly game they were talking about when they announced last years game? I can't see how they would cut out consoles if this is a recurring series. Well I'll probably still get it, just wish it was on the 360 like last years game.
Obviously it must not of sold well on Xbox 360 or PC last year, in order for them to get left out this year. I guess it's not worth the money to update to PS3 and Xbox 360. btw please stop with the whole next gen. PS2 is out dated, the rest are current gen, thanks.
at the risk of sounding like a d-bag, the reason they arent making it on next gen consoles probably has something to do with the fact that in general, the monster jam crowd more than likely would go with whats cheaper, and considering the price of next gen consoles...
When will Monster Jam/ Live nation learn that monster jam isn't twisted metal! we want a realistic monster jam game not some game that a 5 year old wants to bash! Activision I hope you read this because you just lost 65 bucks.
Monster Truck Madness by Microsoft game studios was probably the best Monster Truck game ever made. I wish they would come out with an up to date version of the game. Playing it online back in the day was a blast. You used to be able to play it on the Microsoft Game Zone site.
Im still waiting for the day an actual good monster truck game gets released. Too bad it's not going to be on the PS3 but I guess i'll have to keep a lookout for the PSP version.
Aww.. I somehow managed to read this as Space Jam. Imagine my dissapointment when reading the artice... A guy can still dream though.
