New Grand Theft Auto V screens show leisure activities

Rockstar unloads three fresh shots from upcoming open-world game highlighting tennis, motorbikes, and parachutes.
Rockstar Games has shared three new images from the much-anticipated open-world action game Grand Theft Auto V. In an update to the company's news blog titled "Leisure," the developer dispatched shots depicting three individuals racing off-road motorbikes up a mountain pass, a tennis match, and a person parachuting through a gorge (at right).
These images follow new shots from Monday, which highlighted transportation options in GTAV, including road bikes, fighter jets, and sports cars.
GTAV has been the subject of much speculation, with many analysts believing the game will be on store shelves by March 2013, despite Rockstar having remained silent on its release date.
Last month, Rockstar explained why it has remained largely quiet on GTAV since officially announcing it in October, saying it doesn't want to spoil the game prerelease, and it is simply not ready to show more.
When GTAV does arrive, it will do so with great sales expectations. Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia believes the game will sell 14 million copies at launch, driving $700 million in revenue. For more on GTAV, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

PLEASE MY FRIEND MAKE THIS GAME EPIC language TIME AND PEOPLE iv seen a lot of fan based images about this game it would be epic to play any old guy from the previously games play anybody... it would be fun to play previous characters that would be epic
Looks like Rockstar are going to score big with those who remember San Andreas, this game is gonna make me super nostalgic!
Lets face it, its clearly next-gen, looks way too smooth for the current consoles. I know AC3 looks incredible but GTA V looks to be up a notch from that.
Plus R* have never released two 'numbered' GTA games within the same generation. AND Max Payne 3 was announced in 2009, released in 2012.
So GTA V could well be a 2014 title and very much next-gen, ffs.
I hope Im wrong.
@ssdd_again GTA1 and 2 came out during the same console generation. That was in the PS1 era.
@karenwen I know what you mean, Grand Theft Auto wasnt 'numbered' though. Its just Grand Theft Auto.
@ssdd_again Let's not forget they are in development for 4 years now. I dont think these results are anything else but a reflection of a long and there for good development cycle.
7 Like @ssdd_again I don't think they'd be able to make much money if it's released on next gen. Think about the amount of people that own a 360 or PS3 now, then think about the amount of people that won't be able to afford the new consoles + GTA. I know I won't, took me years to get a 360.

I agree with your point though, financially it makes no sense for them to release it on next-gen, launch title or not.

Well some comments here saying its next gen . Well its not next gen because reason see great shots . Because they spend more money on the game on gta5 so its a big open world like san andres i belive. Must Buy .
by the looks of it this game might come out until late 2013... they are just releasing little information at a time so they could still be working on it (maybe there half way done) or they just wanna surprise us and release it early 2013:)

This has the potential to be so many games in one. Car racing, bike racing, tennis, and lots others. If they make enjoyable modes for a plethora of activities in the game world, mayhap I only need to buy one game next year
9 Like I want more info on the PC version, like if they made it better than the Really badly optimized gta 4 on pc. and if it is expected to release at the same time, but mostly if it is optimized better than a cheap port. I love it on PC, better graphics, mods like Icenhancer and custom cars.
@blackflaimelion Max Payne 3 runs really smoothly so I think they've probably got it sorted now.
@blackflaimelion Would be nice if they could get it right the first time. They eventually fixed whatever performance issues that was plaguing the PC version, at least for me.
2 Like i say this comes out as 2013 launch title for the new consoles... i jus dont think the current generation can really handle what have been seeing as far as screens and the trailer are concerned... its obviously running on a pc as of now but until the new consoles come out i dont think the 360 or ps3 can do what we are looking at here... :/
im starting to beleive that this game is gonna be on the new consoles!.... i just REALLY dont see it running on the current hardware of this generations console, im sorry!... now what i do see from the video evidence and pictures is that this is runnning on the pc, it has to be!...but ps3, 360......NAH!....im thinking it will be a launch title in 2013 for the new consoles!

Looks like its possible to run on current gen consoles. It might be on the same engine that max payne 3 ran on which was really well done. I dont think I ever noticed any bugginess when playing it.

I glad they got some of GTA: SA back, its still my fav game of the series even better than GTAIV.
So day one buy for me on the PS3 even if my rig is an i7-2630 @ 2,9GHz ati r hd 6770 1gb ddr5 8gb ram.
5 Like I'm underwhelmed by this. 4 had a great story, but that was what it was. a great story. I miss the focus on sandbox gameplay. liberty city was great to drive through, but it wasn't much of a playground. Especially with jerk offs calling my cell every 10 minutes to go play darts. Red dead was cool for the 1st 15 hours, but it repeated itself too much with out evolving. I can only shoot so many cougars and mexicans before i get bored. Rockstar, you're procuction values and artwork are some of the best in the industry, but your game designs feel 'safe', shallow, dated, and weak. If the story telling and atmosphere is the best thing you have to offer, why are you still making sandbox games? You had the right idea with max payne.
@Epicurus-Reborn Yeah, I got tired of Rockstar a while back! I actually do not like sandbox games any more. People get too focused on things being huge and full of mini games it just effects the over all story and it's progression in my opinion! They get too focused on making you collect a 1000000 tiny things hidden in a huge area. It's sad but I just feel with these types of games it is more about quantity than quality. GTA's on the PS2 were great because they try to shock people with the amount packed into the machine's specs. But now with so many sandbox games out there and the genre going on for so long the wow factor of it all has kind of worn off. Also I feel the GTA gimmick of being able to drive around doing crazy and violent stuff does not have that shock appeal behind it any more. GTAs are becoming too samey and I just feel they relay too much on the name alone selling! They are out dated!
@mr_gibberish i felt the gimmick part too with gta4. I loved driving around at 1st , when there was all these new things to see. but then it seemed like wasted time going from one mission to the next.
