PlayStation 4 in development since 2010?

as soon as one console is released they are working on the next one almost immediately ..so...this is not shocking..

How is this a surprise to anyone?

Won't even consider a PS4 until at least a year or two after release

1) Release games will look and play like garbage after 6-8 months... anyone revisit Resistance 1?  lol

2) Updated hardware gen/release... the 20/60GB PS3 was full of flaws and hardware issues.  Mine chewed up the first game disc out of the box and wouldn't spit it back up, so I had to return it the very next day.

3) PS3 games will become uber cheap when PS4 is released.

Still getting a PS3.  The PS4 won't be out for at least 2 years.

Good for you Americans. As I live in Brazil I will probably have to spend $ 1800 dollars on a console. -__- Those things are always expensive here. I bought my ps3  two years ago. There are still a lot of games I want to buy. PS3 is pretty good I don't see any reason for a new console now, especially when they're struggling to build a considerate difference over the current ps3.

I have better news.  The PS4 has been in development since the release of the PS3!

I'm sure PS4 development has been in the works to some degree since the PS3 launched.  Whether it's software or hardware, by the time you get close to launch, you already have a big list of things you want to do that get bumped to the next version.  You usually have a team to support and maintain your released product, while a core team begins work on the next version.

if they block used games then it is a no go for sure, I will stick with ps3 for life.

if the ps4 is digital game downloads only and blocks used game, i will throw a kitty out my window

Usually developing a new console takes minimum 3-4 years. So it wouldnt a surprise if they had started developing 2010.

"Block used games..."  I really hope thats just a rumour...  If the games are download only, then having the block will be feasible. 

old school ftw new console is nothing more then good graphic and  fps,.......maybe i say this because i am to much nostalgic and the new gamer gonna say the same thing in 15 years lol

I doubt they started that late. Probably started drawing up plans as early as 07 or 08. Making a console is a major risk in the business and many factors are considered before R&D departments start prototyping. It takes longer than 3-4 years.

it better not be stupid expensive, but knowing sony it probably will be. sony pays too much attention to hardware and not enough to launch titles. look at vita crazy powerful but hardly has any games.
