PlayStation Store Update: Killzone 3, L.A. Noire DLC

Sony's virtual marketplace adds new maps for Guerrilla's shooter, fresh case for Rockstar's sleuther; Alien Zombie Mega Death now available as full-game download; Virtua Tennis 4 demo also out.

Sony rings in the official start to summer with a host of new games and content ranging from a new arson case for L.A. Noire to a fresh undead game.

Leading the charge this week is Killzone 3's From the Ashes ($5) content. The map pack brings four new maps to the Killzone 3 multiplayer universe. Additionally, players who missed out on the game's two previous map packs--Steel Rain and Retro--can get everything they missed and the new maps at a discounted rate in the $10 DLC Bundle pack.

Also out now on the PlayStation Network is a new case for Rockstar's period detective game L.A. Noire. The Nicholson Electroplating Disaster DLC ($4) is now available to download from the marketplace. It tasks players with solving the mysterious case of an explosion in downtown Los Angeles.

Gamers looking to bring the battle to alien zombies can pick up Alien Zombie Mega Death ($8) today from the PlayStation Network. Developed by PomPom, the game--which boasts 70 levels--tasks players with laying waste to hordes of extraterrestrial undead creatures while dodging their attacks to stay alive.

The 2011 Wimbledon Championships in England kicked off this week. Players hoping to bask in the tennis spirit can pick up a virtual racket and try out a 3D and PlayStation Move-enabled demo for Sega's Virtua Tennis 4.

Living-room rockers can pick up new tunes today to add to their Rock Band libraries from alt-rockers Puddle of Mudd and pop rock group Maroon 5. Three tunes from each band are available for $2 each or bundled together for $5.49.

Every since I did the new PS3 System update that was required to do today, I?ve been having issues with playing Mortal Kombat. It?s not much of an issue, but the game / fight announcer ? Shao Kahn? doesn?t say certain words during a fight, like ?FIGHT!? or ?FATALITY!? or ?ROUND 2? or even ?Flawless Victory!? It?s like they are skipped during the fight or missed.. it?s weird! Does anyone have this issue also?

L.A Noire is nice, hopefully they support it for a while with cases and I'll pick up the rockstar pass.

Is anybody wondering what the hell happened to Beyond Good & Evil HD for PSN?.. June 8th was the release date, now nowhere to be seen and no news regarding it.

I just wonder whether people will actually buy the KZ3 multiplayer MAPS ??? because if I buy them and I find no one in there then there will be no point of them.......

@buying1999 Ummm or someone who actually cares about the people who work year round off making great games... Buying used games gives all of the money to Gamestop. How am i a Ps3 fanboy for valuing developers over the retailer...oh right... it doesnt.

I gave the game A LOT of hrs but in the end it just wasnt like K2. In K2 you always felt like u had a chance, if u had decent tacts. u could get in a room and battle it out and just maybe gain an objective. In K3 its all about spawn points or nothing.....Game was just not as fun.

@buying1999 Anyone who says they don't "trust" sony is a dumbass. Nothing is unhackable, if you are really worried go get the prepaid cards...Since no fraudulent charges have been made, its pretty safe to assume that no credit card data was stolen. If you don't trust sony, you might as well get rid of your credit card, because any online retailer/online store can be hacked...

WEAK update if you ask me most of that stuff should on the disc and the other stuff is meh at the most. I'm glad that I stop supporting sony 100% after the hack. They will never see another Penny from me. I'll buy all there exclusives cheap and used for now on.
