Pro Evolution Soccer 4 going Live
Konami of Europe confirms that the Xbox version of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will feature online play.
Following the first public showing of the game at London's GameStars Live event last week, Konami of Europe has today confirmed that the Xbox version of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (known as Winning Eleven 8 in North America) will feature online play. In addition to playing matches against each other on Xbox Live, players will be able to set up their own mini-leagues, and they'll see how they compare to other players by using the game's online rating system.
"The inclusion of Xbox Live in Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is another example of Konami of Europe listening to its consumers," said Kunio Neo, president, Konami of Europe. "The ability to play this incredible game online will introduce Pro Evolution Soccer 4's many subtleties and intricacies to a whole new audience, and [this move will] further expand its reputation as the ultimate football experience."
"We're very excited that Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will include Xbox Live functionality," added Michel Cassius, senior director, Xbox platform and marketing. "Xbox Live will bring a whole new level of football excitement to Pro Evolution Soccer 4 fans, and we welcome its debut on [the] Xbox as it joins the ever-growing lineup of Xbox Live titles coming to [the] Xbox this Christmas."
The Xbox version of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is currently scheduled for release in Europe in November. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
