Sony offering ACIII, Black Ops Declassified, Lego Batman 2 PS Vita bundles for $200; PS3 Value Bundle also for $200.
Sony isn't skipping Black Friday. The company today announced its plans for the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season, which includes markdowns on select PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 bundles.
Gamers in the market for PS Vita can pick up the Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified bundles for $200 on Black Friday. These normally retail for $250.
Amazon and GameStop will be the exclusive carriers of the Assassin's Creed III: Liberation bundle, while gamers in the market for the Black Ops Declassified bundle will need to shop at Best Buy. Lastly, the Lego Batman 2 PS Vita pack will be available only at Target.
On the console side, Sony will introduce a PS3 Value Bundle on Black Friday for $200 at retailers across the country. This offering includes a 250GB system, a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial membership, the Uncharted Dual Pack (Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2), and the Infamous Collection (Infamous 1 and Infamous 2). Sony claims this represents savings of $120.
In addition, select retailers will carry Dualshock 3 wireless PS3 controllers on Black Friday for $40, a markdown of $15 from the normal $55 going rate.
Great idea. But I'm afraid the mobile gaming mark has taken a big chunk out of handle gaming market. I mean for the about the price of a vita you could pick up a tablet device and have access to large amounts of apps. I'm getting a vita, for sure, but i think the handheld market is drying up these days.
Highly tempted by the white PS Vita sale. Although I'm not really interested in the ACL game, the white unit looks sweet and the memory card is enough to get me started. Even if the PS Vita gets a price drop next year, the white unit is still worth a slight "premium" over the black to me, so there's probably not a lot to loose in purchasing the bundle on sale this year.
Damn it! I dont' want a white Vita, but I don't want it to be bundled with a crappy COD game either... WHY?!?
@DiverseGamer I'm in the same situation. I would just get the Lego Batman one, but will I even be able to get it online?
@DiverseGamer then get the LEGO batman game..its pretty fun and if u dont like it sell it
If the Vita sells well enough on Black Friday, will it be enough to wake Sony up to what they need to do sooner rather than later? Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and admit you're wrong. Nintendo admitted it with the 3DS, and they never looked back after the price drop.
i wonder what the price cut for 2013 will be. I just don't want to get it during black friday and then a few months later i see it for even less.
Still waiting for that killer IP for Vita...like an exclusive Metal Gear or Resident Evil. Ya hear me, Sony!
i got my asscreed vita on layway at gamestop! WHOO!!!!!!! getting mine.
did you REALLY think i was going to get the call of duty one? i work above a gamestop at my job. getting it before work!
Only price cut people will probably be seeing until next Black Friday rolls around. Well, not a price cut, just a sale. Price cut sounds like it assumes it's a permanent change and it's not.
Man, that PS3 bundle is so awesome it actually makes me kinda jaded about buying my system and those games a long time ago, lol.
There is no doubt that there will be a price drop for the Vita but we are at a point where it may not help. The Vita is tarnished with mediocre and bad games. Sony can't wait to the next E3 to address the failures of the Vita. The biggest problem is third party support. Companies like Activision and EA has no reason to put their best developers to make games for the Vita. As for Activision they need to answer in why they allowed a horrible developer Nihilistic to make a Call Of Duty game and taking a hands off approach. As for Sony they need to follow Nintendo's footsteps and create an Ambassador Program for early adopters and have free PS2 games to download.
@snake63 dude, i am pretty sure many companies are making exclusive titles for the vita. call of duty, even though i HATE IT is a side story which fits black ops and black ops 2. assassins creed is also a side story. they are built from the ground up and shows companies are interested in developing for the console. why the hate?
@snake63 There is plenty of good games for it.
P4 The Golden
Warrior Lair(on the way)
Soul Sacrifice(on the way)
Little Big Planet(better than the consoles ones odd enough)
Virtue's Last Reward
All the console games of course that are ported.Hold up well and honestly quite a few play alongside your ps3 community
PSP games you can play with a second analog stick, bilinear filtering, better color and touch support if you wish. They hold up extremely well and feel far better to play on the Vita.
Hot Shots Golf
PS All Stars Battle Royal(by ps3 version get Vita version for free)
I didnt mention others , i only mentioned ones in my taste. But there is plenty of games to enjoy.
And many are on the way.
You have to remember that Vita sales are within their expectations which it isn't a failure. So many people miss that.
I think I'm going to shell out for the White Vita @ $200. That's a good looking system, and down the line we all know the vita will be a killer portable to own for a few reasons. It's also likely the last of its kind.
just want to say that if you never laying and chilling with your psp (or nds) in your bed or sofa with a game like final fantasy tactics... im sorry for you. im just waiting for these hardcore number rpg games coming out for the vita (or monster hunter, anything superhardcore).
@zoeyleft Get RO, and then wait for Soul Sacrifice and Warriors Lair in march.
Hell buy the bundle and put aside til march then have a joy ride.
Ugh glad I bought a slim last summer rather than this ugly cheap and overpriced super slim... I'm happy their lowering they're prices a little down though but I really think it's not enough, it shouldn't be limited to Black Friday. Sell the system for 150 $ no silly bundle!
The game + the console for 200? I would say worth it ... HOWEVER you still need the memory card, accessories etc.... so what 300 total? .... ill rather wait
@Pete5506 Thats one big difference I noticed between Sony and Microsoft, Sony has made their systems cheaper, but also shittier, taking out backwards compatibility, memory reader, etc. Yet Microsoft has been making the 360 cheaper AND better, the new models look slick, have wifi, touch sensitivity, etc (which the original 360s didn't)
I kind of wish they would just turn the Vita into a 'HD remakes of last gen games' console. At least then I would be happy.
I just love all these vita haters who has probably never even touch a vita
I bought the early edition vita bundle and still have no regrets I use my vita everyday hell I'm on it right now
@shadowhunter0 i played it once. i am not a fan of sony HOME consoles, but i LOVED my psp. i had it long after i got my 360 and played it a lot more than my 360 and i had gta IV! i love sony's handhelds because they really knew that it could bring a japanese rpg overseas and it would be a moderate success. i can not wait to download some.
@shadowhunter0 I also bought the early edition Vita bundle and you have to admit that the games have been disappointing. Sony needs to put a quality control system and stop poor games from being released.
@shadowhunter0 Vita is overall good, but it could be better. There're still quite a few drawbacks on the current PSvita like: camera resolution, internet browser app as examples. It cannot fully replace other mobile devices yet. And yes, I brought one.
