PS Vita to get HD Collections via Remote Play

I've done some Remote Play on my Vita on the strangely addictive Tokyo Jungle and it works pretty well. 

This availability is of course the answer for wanting to still play your old games if you're not me and didn't keep the games you still want to play the first time you invested in them.

so far, i only watch movies using Remote Play as sony decided to take 10 years for them to enable games to play with Remote Play (but the movie streamed from the ps3 still look awesome and still looks like it's in full hd even on vita. idk. it's just beautiful)

Uh... Your PS3 has to be on to be able to remote play GOW right? So that's not good to the environment. If you have a PS3 and a Vita in your house, I think you can at least afford another TV for the PS3 in case your Dad wants to watch the news in the living room.

Good to see another reason to get the Vita...eventually. 

Why some people don't understand that we still want to play when we have to take a shit, so the remote play is PERFECT!

Why don't they just sell vita versions? I mean, handhelds are for on-the-go gaming, not chilling at home when there's a perfectly good PS3 to play the same game on.

Thanks good news. Almost worth Re-buying God of War. I have all of the games so I wasn't going to bother. I shall try the remote play feature with ICO/shadow of the Colossus first since I don't own either of those games. Hopefully Sony will enable more games to use Remote play. The PSP version really wasn't worth it. PSvita hopefully will be better.

has anyone used remote play on the Vita?? its so grainy and unclear. its like watching an SD video on youtube... nothing to be excited about... and besides... if your using your home wifi, wouldnt you just play it through your PS3?? its better on tv. ... if im away from home and using a wifi signal from outside, i dont like the idea of leaving my ps3 on at home... scared it will overheat.

thats cool. but isn't that going to lead to people getting free games? o well, this can be a good thing for the vita to help sales if people know about it except sony isn't advertising crap

That is pretty sweet mode for the Vita. I'm liking that they announced too, extra copies of certain games if you buy them for PS3. PSAllStars is one such game, comes with the Vita version free.

It's a nice touch. I'm assuming that you have to already own the Ico & SoTC and God of War Collection for the PS3 before you can download it to the PSVita. Does this also work for the God of War Saga and Sly Cooper collection?

It's a start, but I want my PS3 games to play on my Vita as was promised. Was looking forward to having Demon/Dark Souls running through my Vita.

It's a great courtesy, but we can't expect this (or cross-buy) to become very widespread. Doing so would make selling Vita versions obsolete.

Giving away software to sell more hardware can always only be a short-term solution.

This is good, but I need way more Remote Play enabled games before I get a Vita.

Remote Play is only as good as your Internet Signal... Good thing the PS3 I have linked with my Vita is hardlined and My Computer @ work is right next to our router... The idea is to have all PS games work on the Vita through remote play but they never gave a timeline when that would happen... It will slowly happen... SLOWLY... Kinda like trophies for MGS4...

Finally! Now they can lower the price on the overpriced memory and get remote play to work with killzone 3 and I'll be happy, for now. ;)

This is good news.  I wonder if it will work across the Internet, or will the PS3 and Vita both have to be on the same LAN...

But my real question is: Why aren't they bringing this functionality to all PS3 games?  Sure, you'd have to deal with the loss of the L2 and R2 triggers on the Vita, but I think this would be a tremendous selling point.  I don't even want to imagine how many gamers would love to be able to continue their PS3 game while they're on the loo.

Imo , Sony needs to focus less on hd-cross-play ports and more on unique exclusive titles. I would rather see less of the option to play ps3 titles on the go and instead seeing more game experiences like Assassin's Creed III Liberation. A portable title should have enough for you to be willing to play it at home even. So far I can only count 2 or 3 titles tops that I would voluntarily play at home that wouldn't just be out-ranked by full ps3 versions.

New remote play app? I might be missing somthing here, but hasnt remote play been in existence for several years now? and its been on the VITA since the start

It works great - I was messing about with GoW on my Vita last night through this. major +1 for Sony for getting their act together and doing this. Now we just need more games to work on it.

This is awesome. I hope Sony start doing this for more PS3 games. If they do this for a lot of games the Vita truly could become a portable PS3 in the truest sense. So just to be clear. This is only for these collections? Because I don't have teh GOW collection, but I do have GOW3 on disc. They haven't put up a patch for any of those games indivudually?

Anyway this really is all kinds of awesome, just like the Vita itself. I got it at launch and I've barely put the thing down!

Great! I wonder if it ill support other HD collections (ahem Jak and daxter).

They should also make it so you can turn on your ps3 remotely to go into remote play though. That way you could connect anywhere.
