After watching the interview with the producers, I can't help but get this feeling that it isn't going to be that good. They seemed to be going a little overboard with the whole "this isn't as serious as it would be in the Tiberium universe" kind of thing. I mean yes the Red Alert games have always been a tad over the top, but they didn't feel as cartoony as this one does. And why did that one guy say there has never been a third faction before, does he not remember Yuri? Seriously though, Japan is the third faction, really, Japan? I guess they're really going nuts with the alternate history thing. I've always been a big C&C fan, but this one is certainly going into the "wait and see" column.

I'm a massive RA2 fan but having seen the screen shots I'm worried... The engine will improve - no one expects the first screen shots to look as good as the finished product but... the art direction looks a bit naff :S. I'm not pleased with the tiny tesla coils either... If I were an evil meglomaniac, my tesla coils would be huge ^_^.

Wow red alert was my first game on the pc. This is truely amazing, i hope they do a good job on it.

This is the most beautiful piece of news ive heard in while... if you can describe news as beautiful... This is something i've been waiting for ...! Me and my friends occaissionally quote stuff from RA2 and i havnt played it in years.... (and no we're not a bunch of nerds) "We will BURY THEM!" "Squared Away Sir!" C&C was my first game on the pc, red alert my second, personally I like red alert better - cant wait.

Well being a huge fan of C&C, and finding that the scrin campaign being unlocked after finishing nod on C&C 3 TW, I will be expecting better than C&C 3 TW. C&C has come a long way from back in the days when Mr Perry was the programmer and Westwood were on board. Come on EA you have huge shoes to fill. P.S....By the way just to brag I own every single C&C there is. Hurry up C&C Red Alert 3.

you know I was scared that a RA3 would give the "now the Soviets are just becoming pathetic" idea. But it looks like EA has found a way around it after seeing the newsletter I have just gotten

Red Alert was easily the best in the series, so my expectations are very high for this. Hopefully it will have online play. I always liked swarming someone with hundreds of grenaders and tanks and such over the internet.

Awesome! I loved Red Alert 2, so I can't wait send my minions forth with more hi-tech destructiveness, in this one.

I didn't really play Red Alert 2 (only got the demo), but Red Alert was the first strategy game I ever played. The whole clicking on a guy and telling him what to do was like "holy crap! this is the best game ever!" (Understand, I was coming from Pacman and Centipede on the x486 with the DOS prompt as my way of starting them.) I usually played it on easy and got a map where I could sit on an island unbothered until I was ready to pummel every NPC with my hoard of 12 cruisers or, later on, 5 or 6 missile subs. fairness wasn't as much fun when I was 12 though ;) Anyway, I hope number 3 has the same gritty, 1941, limited technology, setting that Red Alert started with.
