Next installment of Command & Conquer series to feature diverse cast of actors including Tim Curry, Jenny McCarthy, George Takei.
Electronic Arts' Command & Conquer series of games has a history of attracting Hollywood mainstays such as James Earl Jones, Udo Kier, and Michael Ironside. For the upcoming Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, EA is maintaining the tradition with a full slate of recognizable names and faces.
As part of its Leipzig Games Convention showing, EA announced today that a dozen stars of screen and cage will be appearing in the next installment of its alternate-history real-time strategy series. Although EA didn't single out any actor for special treatment, the cast is headlined by Tim Curry (Clue, McHale's Navy), Jenny McCarthy (Basketball, Witless Protection), Kelly Hu (X2, Surf Ninjas), Jonathan Pryce (Brazil, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End), and J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Postal). Rounding out the cast will be Gemma Atkinson (Hollyoaks), Andrew Divoff (Lost), Ivana Milicevic (Casino Royale), Autumn Reeser (The O.C.), Peter Stormare (Prison Break), and George Takei (Star Trek).
EA went beyond the normal casting call for Red Alert 3 and also brought in a pair of mixed-martial artists for the game. Appearing alongside the Hollywood talent will be bruisers Randy Couture and Gina Carano. Couture has dabbled in film before, with roles in Redbelt and the straight-to-DVD The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior, whereas Carano is best known as "Crush" on the revamped American Gladiators.
EA has also detailed some of its release plans for the game, including a limited Premier Edition package and preorder incentives. The Premier Edition will include exclusive multiplayer maps, an official soundtrack, a beta key to a future Command & Conquer game, and an extra disc with an hour's worth of behind-the-scenes material. Those who preorder either the regular or limited edition of the game will get a bonus bundle including the full version of Command & Conquer Red Alert 2, an exclusive multiplayer/skirmish map, a series retrospective, and more.
Red Alert 3 is set for release this fall for the Xbox 360 and PC. A PlayStation 3 version had been announced, but was ultimately put "on hold." For more on the game, check out GameSpot's latest preview.
wow, kelly hu, i know which fraction i'm going to be playing first, hehehe... hope she is some kind of samurai/ninja/geisha chick, tat would be nice...
God damn i hate you EA.... you put in tim Curry and George Takei in the same game....part of me is fighting on whether to get this or not now...i mean C&C Red Alert in the past were good, but they were never StarCraft and StarCraft 2 is getting closer by the day, damn you EA i don't want to give you my money, but I may have to on this game....Tim Curry FTW! Auh and Jenny still is looking just as hot as she did when she was on Singled Out....damn I would jump on the grenade for that.
OMG One of the best games ever ... i played every single version of Red Alert and it's expansions. Just can't wait to get my hands on this !!!
Really looking forward to seeing Takei, I think he could have one of the best roles in the game. McCarthy might not have been my #1 choice for Tanya, but it could of easily been worse.
Anything with Tim Curry in it automatically makes it own. That's a LOT of well known actors, very nicely done.
Some good names, Tim Cury; J.K. Simmions is really awesome. For those kids out there he played J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider Man movies and played Juno's dad in Juno among other things. Overall a really good actor. Also the man himself George Takei. He probably has one of the best "voice-over" voices out there.
I uploaded the trailer for the in game movies that EA just released at Leipzig. Check it out, looks amazing.
Jenny McCarthy = Nasty! There are probably 100s of thousands of women in Hollywood they could've gotten that actually has talent and a good reputation.
" DoomZaW Posted Aug 20, 2008 12:04 pm PT How i hope that Red Alert 3 will be failure so that EA can learn not to mess up our games with flying bears and fancy hollywood!" Haha (ex) soviet basher :)
