Mysterious trailer reportedly shown at Capcom's booth during Tokyo Game Show; Capcom says it knows nothing about it.
Source: Kotaku is reporting that Capcom has confirmed the existence of Resident Evil 6 during the Tokyo Game Show via a trailer shown at the publisher's booth on the show floor.
What we heard: In September last year, Capcom managing director Keiji Inafune told Spanish gaming site 3D Juegos that the publisher wanted to release Resident Evil 6 as soon as possible to capitalize on Resident Evil 5's sales success.
It now appears that Capcom may indeed be readying the latest installment in its lucrative Resident Evil series. Kotaku is reporting that a bystander at this year's Tokyo Game Show has captured on film what appears to be a trailer for the new game.
The trailer, which was uploaded to YouTube but has since been taken down (but can be viewed in the Kotaku report), shows a few brief lines of text followed by a title that reads: "Biohazard 6." The Resident Evil series is known as Biohazard in Japan.
The official story: GameSpot has spoken to several Capcom representatives, who have denied any knowledge of the existence of Resident Evil 6. Speaking to GameSpot, a Capcom representative said: "Capcom's official line on this is that we have nothing official to announce about Resident Evil 6."
However, one Capcom representative at the Tokyo Game Show booth told GameSpot that he was under the impression that a logo for Resident Evil 6 had already been shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year (thus unofficially confirming the existence of the game).
At this stage, no one from GameSpot has seen the actual trailer and Capcom representatives are denying that it exists.
Bogus or Not Bogus?: [UPDATE]: Bogus for the moment. GameSpot sat through the entire presentation at the Tokyo Game Show and there was no mention of Biohazard 6. There is, however, a special Biohazard 15th Anniversary presentation being held at the Capcom stage tomorrow at 3:10 p.m. local time, where a "secret guest" has been listed as appearing…
Hopefully it like resident evil outbreak....with our online technology it should be fun....they should also have a part where create your own character.
Unlike a lot of the old school nostalgia freaks (who, though I myself have been a gamer since 1989, are starting to annoy the crap out of me) I like RE5. The co op was some of the most fun I've had playing a game on 360. I never liked the old RE formula with its crappy camera angles, awkward controls, weak attempts at horror and brain dead story. RE4 and RE5 are by far the best in the series because they abandon the weak attempts at horror to actually have a game that's fun to play, and guns that shoot somewhat naturally. With some improvements (such as being able to move while aiming/shooting), RE6 could improve on this and be a really awesome and fun game. I hope we get to control Leon and Claire this time, they're my two favorites, although Jill's up there.
coop gameplay in re5 on prof is amazing new characters are great especially hottest sheva intresting storyline about partnership great boss wesker coolest for that time graphics what about dead space - for me it sucks hard
I bought Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD and I'm really enjoying it. (perhaps thats because I've never played it before) BUT regarding RE5, I admit I did enjoy it, however it seems that the more recent RE games aren't even as scary as Veronica X, but to be fair I think the older ones were scarier due to the difficult controls. Dead Space is a good example of a well-execued modern horror shooter, HOWEVER, I never found it verty scary/intense due to the sheer amount of badass weaponry you have. I've always viewed Dead Space as primarily an action game over a survival horror game. So hopefully RE6 can provide a scarier experience, but I'll be expecting just a fun action-y shooter.
RE6!...really? i lost all interest after 4. sure i'm more or less antiscipating ORC coming out later this year, but only out of sheer morbid curiousity. and yes, the adapted movies are downright stupid boring and lame, just like how they completely F*ed all those marvel movies at stan lees expense. talk about disappointing. i say nay to RE6 but redo some of the originals...first. ;]
resident evil have lost its suspense and fear factor over the years and it's becoming more of action thriller oriented game. gone are the days of unexpected scary moments. re1 to 3 still had the scary atmosphere, but re4 onward it seems to be replaced by action thrill theme rather than the original scary theme.
Resident Evil 0 to 4 are the best...RE5 was a disappointment: very short gameplay time, no scary atmosphere, the coop thing destroyed the atmosphere completely and it was annoying, the bosses were very uninteresting to fight and Capcom made Chris into a very lame character, and Wesker's matrix thing was even more lame. Capcom should learn from the guys who made Dead Space.
do a remake of the first 3 resident evil games so that they have the graffics like resident evil 4 and 5, for all consoles
to be honest resident evil really isnt a scary game anymore so they dont need to worry about taking the scare factor away with co op they should keep it in. made it awesome, resident evil 5 has to be one of the greatest all time coop games
I will say the only thing I miss in the original RE series was the "walking dead" zombies that would bite you rather then the ones with parasites in their heads and zombies that shoot you with crossbows...would they still be considered zombies though?
RE6 has potential in being a great game, the only reason why RE5 was a somewhat disappointment was because they made it a 2 player co-op game and was the first of its kind (besides the wii/chronicle games and the 4 player Outbreak). RE4 was basically the same only your partner, Ashley, would scream or hide. But they did somewhat decent with it besides the storyline (which I didnt care for much at all). Im just wishing for a remake of RE2 with Ada's storyline and a new RE Outbreak to play online! Overall every resident evil game I have played are great!
also bring back the best charas..wich are leon and ofc jill valentine, chris was good in res 1 and code veronica but for res5 they made him a stupid steroid american hero
res 5 was the worst in the series,res2 remain the best of the series, bring back that kind of atmosphere dont listen the kids that all they want is stupid fps, explosions and fakeness.go back to your old roots capcom or sooner or later u gonna close or bought by another company
The only RE I ever liked was RE 4. Yeah, 4. Go ahead and hate me if you want. RE 5 was only just okay. Hopefully, Capcom can get this series back on track. Give us the scares and dark atmosphere of RE 1 Remake with the gameplay of RE 4, and it should work!
kinda gave up on RE after No. 4, and still I only enjoyed it because I didn't regard it as an RE game. Plus the movies are just ridiculous... and they're making another one!
Meh.... Not to excited for this. Don't get me wrong, I loved RE4, but I didn't like RE5 all that much. Good game, yes, but the insta-kills were so cheap towards the end that I still haven't finished it, and probably never will.
Well Since i heard going to be last one series for gd like D3dr0-0 make it very very very creepy. And make it like res 2 and 3 again so capcom make it the best one ever.
According to what I read this is supposed to be a complete reboot because evidently screw the fans, they want that money from the western Market. I would like to remind these aholes that it was us fans who made your RE5 a success.
They need to make this like Dead Space. Maybe in an abandoned underground tricell laboratory or something. More claustrophobic and dark. But with very big hordes of T & G Virus zombies. As long as it's a resident evil I can't wait to play it.
I would like to see more of the T & G Virus zombies in mass hordes (possibly another outbreak in another city caused buy Tricell doing their own experiments). Slow moving, limited ammo forcing you to find safe paths (or less congested path) through them trying to avoid being grabbed. Didn't like the idea of Las Plagas Mind controlling parasite. Doesn't have the same feel as an experimental virus that animates the dead.
Of course theres gonna be another Biohazard wesker is still alive lol . hehe ^^ maybe its gonna be another story for Biohazard 6. but its a sweet game no matter what.
While the creep factor is gone its not all that hard to reintegrate, they don't. even have to remove the gun-play to do it, just look at games like bioshock and deadspace. Or hell just don't have the zombies drop ammo make the guns do less damage and their you go a competent hybrid.
1. The creep factor is GONE. If you actually follow the story, all of that is in the past as the virus has evolved. We will not see the old RE beyond spin-offs. 2. RE6 = Alex perhaps?
If it is true I hope the at least give you the option to play in as a survival horror, im sick of fps.
Remember how Resident Evil 2 gave you chills down your spine especially how creepy the music was O_O , Resident Evil 4 was really good but it didn't have the same fear factor as it was more action than survival horror, in the old games you have limited supply of weapons and ammo, the amount of scarce things to find, in the recent games it's like you can survive cause you have loads of ammo and badass weapons with upgrades, so resident evil lost the survival horror name and added action instead, if Resident Evil 6 was something like the second game but million times better then i would love Capcom like used to 10 years ago.
well if it is better then resident evil:gun survivor and outbreak then ill play but it wouldn't kill them if they learned from their mistakes in resident evil 5
besides wesker there were prolly plenty of higher ups involved besides him. and the whole matrix thing with wesker was kinda lame, i liked him better in RE1. Would like to see another RE2 style game since it is my favorite and always will be. RE4 was not to bad but nothing like the classics. RE5 was just a arcade type game for me being as how kids now a days cant seem to play a game unless it has action, action, action, and u guessed it more action. i just hope whatever it is us PC gamers get some love. so stop delaying capcom were pass due for another RE
Resident Evil was classic, Resident Evil 2 was amazing, Resident Evil 3 was great, Resident Evil 4 was superb, Resident Evil 5 was ok. Resident Evil 6 better be outstanding!
RE5 was great, but, like RE4, it failed to feel like a true resident evil game. They both felt more like shooters, and less like survival horror. I want to roam a massive and creepy mansion, knowing that there's something below (literally). Yes, it has been done before, but if it works, why not do it again in full 3D!? And I want zombies, not some lame angry villagers. I just want the creep factor back!
No thanks, I didnt finished the 5 yet, I´m stuck in the first boss at hard dificult, playing wth move.
