$40 compilation pack includes Insomniac's three PlayStation 3 Resistance games with DLC for Resistance 2 and 3.
Insomniac Games may be finished developing Resistance games, but that doesn't mean Sony is abandoning the brand. The company today announced the Resistance Collection, a $40 PlayStation 3 compilation pack that includes all three Insomniac-developed entries.
Due out this winter, the Resistance Collection includes Resistance: Fall of Man (2006), Resistance 2 (2008), and Resistance 3 (2011). Additionally, the bundle will include downloadable content for Resistance 2 (Aftermath Pack and skin bundle) and Resistance 3 (Brutality and Survival packs).
The game's box art (at right) indicates the Resistance Trilogy will include PlayStation Move support as well as 3D compatibility. Sony did not say if each title within the bundle will support motion control and 3D, and a company representative was not immediately available for comment.
I enjoyed all of the Resistance games as well as the PSP and PSvita versions. Sony hopefully will return with Resistance for PS4. So you are able to catch up on Resistance series.
The Troigloy is already released where i live ,In Qatar Mid-east , but without any DLC , the Price is Equivalent to 82.41 USD .
Here are some Pictures :
notice that it on the lower right , it says Resistance fall of men and on lower left it says Resistance 2 but it is hidden with anti-theift circle thing , which do not what it is called . Hope that helps
I've owned all three plus the vita version. I think the first was the best, but every game is good. I don't think this series should die.
@OreoPoptart Resistance 1 will never get trophies, according to a podcast by Insomniac. "People are angry that we didn't re-issue Resistance 1 with trophies, and the fact of the matter is Resistance 1 was built before trophies existed, we had our own skill point system that we've used since Spyro 1, and to go back and retro-fit that in is an enormous expense for Insomniac."
Resistance 1's code-base was inactive and several people who worked on the game had left, Marcus Smith said "Yeah, it was unbelievable the amount it would cost to do it, the amount of time it would take." They never mentioned trophies in the press release either so it looks like it's a no go.
I've only played the first one and couldn't understand why it was met with such high acclaim. Fun but generic.
@SergioMX What high acclaim? I mean, I'm a fan of the Resistance story ever since playing the PSP title but honestly, even compared to Killzone I get the feeling this franchise doesn't get enough love. Also, I was disappointed in the last entry. First 3 (including PSP game) were better in several ways.
@battlefrontphil The first one was praised all around by reviewers, I found it quite dull. I'm only talking about the first one since that is the only one I played. I didn't even care what happened to Nathan Hale.
Couldnt agree more. 3 had the most impressive capaign in a fps ive played in years. competitive was much tighter and balanced with the numbers scaled back as well. Resistance 3 should have gotten much more praise than the first two, like you said because it fell in between both of their strengths and made a great package.
@SergioMX @battlefrontphil Bah, if you played the first game recently you'd find it somewhat dull indeed. It established the basis for the franchise but some of the design decisions in there got old (even for a series that's supposed to bring back some aspects of old FPS). The second took it forward but tried a little bit too hard to compete with other current-gen shooters, and the third is not only the absolute best in finding the right spot in the middle, but it is also one of the best FPS this generation, specially in terms of story, pacing, difficulty curve and setting. This package is ideal for those who feel paying $180 was too much to follow the trilogy's story - for $40 you can safely breeze through the 2nd game on Easy or Normal and finally get to the *real* deal, the third one.
@SergioMX @battlefrontphil Resistance has inventive weapons and good firefights, but in most aspects it was more representative of old school FPS. It also had the disagreeable position of having to compete with Gears of War at launch, a game that had been in development for years and set a benchmark graphically for this console gen to follow. Resistance never stood a chance in that comparison.
seem like people want famous games in franchises to be made into collections. How about COD collections? lol
@mastergundam It would be nice for them to release a MW1-3 collection for $40. Even if you don't play MP, the 20-hour compaign full of scripted Hollywood style gunning and explosion is quite good to kill a weekend.
Another collection worthy of buying.
Sony really needs to do a Motorstorm collection and a Ratchet & Clank PS3 collection. Maybe a Uncharted collection as well.
@Master_Turismo There *is* a Ratchet and Clank collection. And there's another one coming out soon. There is also an Uncharted trilogy coming if I'm not mistaken. Haven't heard about a Motorstorm collection though.
can't believe who else up to point hasn't bought Uncharted 3 yet and moreover it's too damn cheap right now. There is also a collection of 1 and 2 already and it's too damn cheap too. No point in helping them cash in.........
There already is a Ratchet & Clank collection it came out a few months ago.
Due out this winter? You do realize this is the WORLD wide web Eddie? Were not all American's here, winter just finished where I live so I'll assume I don't have to wait a whole year for this to be released..
@187umKILLAH do you realize that you are on the US side of the site and this site is mainly a US site I believe might be wrong though
@shadowhunter0 Not sure what you mean by U.S. "SIDE" (if there are other sides I would genuinely like to know)but yes I realize most people who run Gamespot are more than likely american but this is a website where everyone from all over the planet come to get their gaming info, personally I'm in New Zealand so referring to seasonal releases in America means nothing to me. My point being he's addressing people all over the world like were all American's and were obviously not, I'm just saying this isn't the second largest gaming website because only american's come here ;)
@shadowhunter0 Do you not understand by now that I couldn't care less where winter is going to be, it varies worldwide so therefor it's rendered meaningless to explain such a description to a worldwide audience is pointless and they could easily say coming in X ammount of months or Feb-March or whatever instead of just addressing only the american's as usual.
They do the same thing when they talk about prices too, even if they do mean only amerian then he should say "winter america" or "$60 american" and hell I'm only guessing he's referring to america!
@187umKILLAH actually they do sites in other counties I know they have an AU site but the main place is in US and what do you want them to say coming in winter or summer based on what hemisphere you live on
also US isn't the only place that is going to be in winter in like couple of months the entire northern hemisphere is
@leviathanwing yea because assuming the entire Gamespot community are all americans is pretty asinine isn't it
Even though I played all 3, I think I'll re buy this eventually. I still regret trading them in for other games. Resistance series was one of my favorite series this generation. Would love to play the whole series from start to finish.
Move support? Well I'm selling my current copy of Resistance and getting this. I haven't even played Resistance yet with so many games available.
day one buy for anyone who just got a PS3 XDResistance 1 - goodResistance 2 - greatResistance 3 - awesome!
Nice! 3 games for $40 I'm not the biggest fan of Resistance but I will still be picking this up for sure.
@JustinFroese94 That won't happen any time soon since they just launched Uncharted 3 GOTY edition. I think they will though.
Good deal for people who don't have all resistance games... I don't have them so i will get this bundle!
