@kozanecki Just FYI if you want some updated news on the Australasian release of Rocksmith.
Rocksmith MIA for Aussie rockers
Rocksmith's stage debut Down Under is uncertain.
With Activision backing out of the rhythm genre and Harmonix reducing its offering to just Rock Band downloadable content, many eyebrows were raised at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year when Ubisoft debuted Rocksmith. While Guitar Hero and Rock Band rely on fake plastic instruments, Rocksmith allows users to plug in their real guitars, and the game teaches players how to jam out for real.
While Rocksmith's October 18 launch in the US creeps closer and closer, Ubisoft Australia hasn't made any mention of an Aussie release date. GameSpot AU called up Ubisoft's local office to find out what was going on with Rocksmith's release Down Under, with a spokesperson confirming to GS AU that it hasn't been dated for Australia yet. For now, it's only been slated for release in Europe and the US.
Going by retailer listings, GAME has Rocksmith slated for a 2012 release, while EB Games Australia doesn't even have a product space for it on its website. It's worth noting that right now, video game import sites are offering to ship the game to Australia around early October.
Rocksmith works by using a special cable that sends the data from your guitar's one-quarter-inch plug to the USB port of your console/PC. Aside from the actual music-playing aspect of the game, there are also several minigames to keep players entertained while they practice playing notes and changing chords.
Keep an eye on GameSpot AU as more Rocksmith information becomes available.
