Street Fighter X Tekken 12-character DLC coming July 31 for $20
Capcom moves up release of on-disc DLC fighters ahead of originally scheduled Vita launch.
The Street Fighter X Tekken 12-character downloadable content pack will drop on July 31 for $20, Capcom announced at EVO 2012. The characters were originally set to debut in the game's PlayStation Vita version this fall and then be sold to home console players later. They were discovered to be present and playable on the original discs after hacks by players.
The six Street Fighter characters in the DLC pack are Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy, and Sakura, while the Tekken side welcomes Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack, Lars Alexandersson, and Lei Wulong. Capcom said the characters were excluded from the vanilla game but were retained on the disc in order to avoid problems with online play.
Street Fighter X Tekken's sales did not meet Capcom's expectations as of May, and the company has since announced it will revise its approach to on-disc DLC. For more news from EVO 2012, check out GameSpot's landing page.
