Team Fortress 2 adding new map, Meet the Pyro movie Wednesday

Pyromania update adds Doomsday arena and fuel-running game mode to Valve's shooter; final entry in "Meet the..." series focused on fire class hitting this week.
Fans of Valve's free-to-play team-based shooter Team Fortress 2 are in for a big week. Valve announced today that the Pyromania update for the title will add a new map called Doomsday and a fresh game mode. And come Wednesday, Valve will release the Meet the Pyro digital short.
The new game mode has BLU and RED teams fighting against each other to secure and deliver a suitcase full of "Australium" to American space monkey Poopy Joe so the animal can take off and hunt down Soviet cosmo-chimp Vladimir Bananas. Players will battle each other to transport the fuel up a "preposterously slow-moving elevator" to complete the task. A full list of achievements up for grabs in the new game mode is available at Valve's website.
On top of the new map and game mode for Team Fortress 2, Valve said the Meet the Pyro digital movie will arrive on Wednesday. It will be the final entry in Valve's series--which introduces players to the game's nine classes--and the first since June 2011's Meet the Medic.
Valve said it has "a bunch of new stuff" to announce before Wednesday, but did not elaborate further. Last Friday, TV network Adult Swim revealed that a partnership with Valve and Team Fortress 2 would be announced this week.

I knew it was going to come... if you've been playing the game there have been tons of hints. Nice to have an official announcement, though.
Wow, after all these years this game still gets updates. I wonder if there are plans for a future Team Fortress 3 game...hmmm.

1 Like Sony and Microsoft don't like anything being given away for free, so valve dropped the consoles.
@DiverseGamer PS3 version of TF2 has been dead on arrival, with the 360 version following soon after.
2 Like @mnoi You realize that Valve doesn't even supply downloads of 10Mbps. I have the fastest internet connection in the Northwest with 25Mbps and up. I get between 1-3Mbps downloads on Steam at best. Generally 1.5-2 is where most things sit.
Addressing the second point, after working for Comcast for a while you would be surprised how many homes have under 3Mbps internet connection speed, if any at all.
@holtrocks For a single file you get 6.5Mbps? Or for a collection that is says at the top?
I can have multiple games downloading at around 2Mbps each, but a single game rarely exceeds that.
Regardless, my main point was that the speed at which a person downloads something is half dependent on the person supplying it also. A person can have the fastest internet in the world but if the server they are getting the files from are on a slow connection, then slow is what the speed is.

@Gelugon_baat Why do you act like it's something terrible for me to want an updated version TF Classic? That's what I want regardless.
@scratchisme At least around 13 years. Thats why I'd like to see it redone. If you know about the history of Team Fortress 2 it was originally shown as having more realistic graphics and not the goofy cellshading that it has now. That's the game I wanted and not the one we received. I know many like the one it turned into, but thats not what I would like.
@Gelugon_baat Curiosity makes me ask, what causes an issue with Valve? They are one of my favorite companies out there and haven't done any wrong by me, aside from ridiculous pricing on TF2 items.

10 Like 20 bucks for the orange box years ago, and I still play it and get stuff online. Everyone in the gaming industry should be following this trend, not the microtransaction bleed-em-dry philosophy of M$ and Peter Moore.

@Gelugon_baat Ever heard of trading, noob? You can get practically every item in the game without paying money. Just keep the items you don't want to trade to people who do want them.
@Gelugon_baat I take it you haven't played a single RPG in your life? Luck-based drops dominate that genre. I find it hard to believe you're making such a big stink because you couldn't find anyone to trade you one specific item. If you'll shut up and stop whining, I'LL GIVE you a Black Box.

i wish i could get this free on pc but it lags and has really weird graphics due to my old pc
