Temple Run 2 revealed
Sequel to immensely popular mobile game adds new graphics and environments, more power-ups, and special powers for each character.
Temple Run 2 is on the way. According to a listing on iTunes New Zealand, husband-and-wife development team Imangi Studios will release a sequel to the popular downloadable game imminently.
No release date for North America or Europe was revealed, though as was the case with the iOS version of Bastion, gamers can expect Temple Run 2 in the West tomorrow.
The sequel will feature updated graphics, new environments and obstacles, as well as more power-ups and achievements. In addition, special powers for each character will be available, as will a bigger monkey.
The original Temple Run has been downloaded over 170 million times, including 75 million downloads on iOS in 2012 alone. For more on the story behind the game's breakout success, check out GameSpot's interview with creators Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova.
