Fourteen-song soundtrack includes offerings from original games like "Superman" by Goldfinger, as well as tunes new to the franchise like "Please Ask for Help" by Telekinesis.
The soundtrack for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD has been revealed. In an interview with Sound and Vision, developer Robomodo confirmed the game's 14 songs, including "Superman" by Goldfinger, a track the studio said was "mandated" by fans.
The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD soundtrack (listed in full below) is almost an even mix of songs from the original Tony Hawk titles and songs new to the franchise. Project manager Ken Overbey discussed the licensing and decision process, saying it was no easy task for a number of reasons.
"It was a little difficult. We definitely wanted to bring back some of the songs from the original soundtrack, but wanted new songs as well," he said. "The most difficulty we had was our budget, which was very small, and the scope and time frame; it was a lot of work to get it all lined up and get the songs in. You have to put out a risk analysis report and you have to point out to the publisher what the biggest risks are in the development. Anyone who knows the game knows the music is just as important as the gameplay."
In development at Robomodo (Tony Hawk Ride, Tony Hawk Shred), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is due out in June and will be the first Tony Hawk title distributed exclusively through digital channels. It will contain levels from the first two Tony Hawk titles, retouched and running on a new game engine.
Confirmed characters for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD thus far include familiar favorites like Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Andrew Reynolds, and Eric Koston, as well as newcomers like Chris Cole, Nyjah Huston, and Hawk's son, Riley Hawk. A firm price for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD has not been announced, but it is expected to sell for "around $15."

Shame that there's no Dead Kennedys, Naughty by Nature or Primus here, but at least all the songs in this game are good.
Where is "Ace of Spades" and "What's the Matter Man?" Well, that's what custom soundtracks are for. If this game lacks a proper Create-A-Skater option, I won't be buying it.
wack soundtrack but i would like the price to be 15 but it should have all of the THPS players and a lot more new ones
I'm not too concerned about the music (a bit disappointed though), just don't f*** up the gameplay and what made Tony Hawks one of my favourite games on the PS1-PS2 era.
No system of a down? :( THPS2 introduced me to then and I've loved them ever since
If they make this vita compatible then I'll get it but I still have the original ps1 discs at home
Sorry, but this soundtrack sucks. They only picked ONE song from THPS 1! WTF? it had WAY better music than THPS 2. They sure left out a lot of good songs from the 1st game.
Damn, "Superman"? That shit takes me back! That song came on Pandora Radio the other day, and I immediately thought of the good days of THPS.
Specifically those good days. Not the more recent, less-than-mediocre ones. Lol.
This is a remake? Same game as the one as that was on the Dreamcast? I actually enjoyed that, so I might have to at least get a demo.
@Gary_Stanton That was on Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. They will probably include it as DLC because they already said they were going to include THPS3 levels as DLC I don't see why they wont include the THPS3 songs with it.
I can't edit my post so I'm going to say. When I said I only like a couple of those songs I mean I only like those songs because I know them. I'm sure once I play the game those THPS2 songs will come back to me.
But I still would like a Custom Soundtrack implementation on the PS3 so I can choose songs that I really like.
Classic list is pretty good, PM5K sucks though....never cared for them. The new stuff.....never heard of any of it but Trent Reznor is featured in one track.....Hmm
Also I'm just not sure I'll grab this.....Activision always finds a way to make their games....Meh plus it's developed by the idiots who did Tony Hawk Ride.......the ones who ruined the franchise.......
The second was the best in my opinion but I really loved all the games up to Underground 2, this is a must buy for me for sure.
Always liked the original Tony Hawk games. They were all tough to master. Like real skate boarding, it took a lot of practice and timing to pull off the big moves. I might pick this up when it's released.
I'm currently listening to all of these songs. The old ones bring in so many good memories :) And the new ones rock out too. I'll be taking a look at this game.
It has DVDs in place of the tapes. Hope you're not mad over something that small.
Actually, I kind of am, because the whole point of "tapes" in the first place is that people recorded them and traded them. It was an underground thing. Replacing them with DVDs defeats the entire purpose of the tapes.
MAY 16 FTW!!!
I heard Superman on the radio the other day. I was singing along until two minutes in, and then I realised that I didn't know beyond that point :P. Definitely the best song in THPS1 imo.
Not as good as May 16 though. Pity they left out RATM's Guerrilla Radio but hey.
Really the music gets way better with each game they released so it's weird that the new songs here are pretty underwhelming.
yea... im more happy that powerman, bad religion, and anthrax are back in here... i could care less about superman.... wish they couldve got some songs from thps3 in here... dlc maybe?
Songs from the original that aren't in this one:
"Police Truck" by the Dead Kennedys
"Here and Now" by The Ernies
"Vilified" by Even Rude
Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" by Primus
"Screamer" by Speedealer
"Nothing to Me" by Speedealer
"Cyco Vision" by Suicidal Tendencies
"New Girl" by The Suicide Machines
"Committed" by Unsane
"Euro-Barge" by The Vandals
So all of them but the worst one (not that it's a bad song, but it's by far my least favorite Goldfinger song). Shame, because I'd rather hear all of these songs than "Superman."
