If I were a CoD player having access to a pre-release version I would fool them all by being a bad person doing good things, muahahaha!
Developer says pre-release multiplayer statistics will not be scrapped when game launches worldwide tomorrow; ban policy detailed.
Gamers who have gotten their hands on a legitimate pre-release copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops II will not have their multiplayer statistics wiped tomorrow when the game officially launches. Treyarch design director revealed the news over Twitter, saying pre-release stats will be maintained, so long as gamers are not found to be a "bad person doing bad things."
Additionally, Treyarch has revealed its ban policy for Black Ops II. The developer's official security & enforcement policy has been posted to its website, revealing a long list of actionable offenses. Treyarch said temporary bans can range from 48 hours to two weeks, dependent on the severity of the issue, while permanent bans are "lasting and final."
Players caught modding or hacking, in possession of pirated content, utilizing unsupported peripheral devices and applications, boosting, glitching, partaking in offensive behavior, or creating an offensive emblem will be subject to possible penalty. Additionally, those who post offensive or unauthorized live stream content also face potential punishment.

Black Ops II is due out worldwide tomorrow, November 13, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, with a Wii U release to follow day-and-date with the system on November 18. PlayStation Vita game Black Ops Declassified also ships November 13.
I think the ammount of hacker and cheater fans of COD are reaching a critical mass that will cause the series to implode in popularity in a short time span. In fact the reviews on BO2 are already mixed, something untinkable until recently.
@TigusVidiks The Xbox 360 version has got 94-70 % on Metacritic based on 41 reviews, I wouldn't call that mixed. Although there are ten 80 % reviews, the number of 90 % reviews are eleven, with below 80 % being four. I'm not a CoD fan, preferring Serious Sam when it comes to FPS shooters, but I don't think the reviews are mixed.
Good PR stunt. Not they can sit back and sit on their thrones made of money and stop caring about the game. They don't need to do anything, nothing is going to stop people from buying the game.
I hold you noobs responsible for the fact that they keep rehashing the same old game. Why is it that everything cool these days has to be ruined by over popularity?
bah, give it a year and a half and treyarch wont care about the game
world at war is a mod fest and in black ops I already saw a auto aim mod in MP
Well I am not sure I believe this. I mean don't get me wrong I do want to see cheaters and hackers get axed with no mercy but then I remember my favorite CoD game World at War and how that game was a cheat-fest so start with and now its virtually unplayable now because of hacking. I guess I'll believe it when I see it.
@Takeno456 World at War was the best one by a long shot. I agree, its a shame that everyone on it is a flying, bullet sponge gun.
Considering there is allready certain websites that are advertising their day one working cheat tool suit for this game. I doubt these bans will do much to bother cheaters and simply be more a PC police coming down on offensive names and tags while the cheaters and hackers are untouched.
"bad person doing bad things?" umm, isn't that a little too broad? I know they listed some of the offenses in the article, but with that type of wording you could be banned for anything. It depends on what they mean by "bad." Personally, I don't think certain types of modding "bad" especially since I'm a pc gamer. I love when people create their own modded servers and add their own creativity to the game but with that wording, any type of creativity could get u banned.... -_- lol...
@gplayer5 Add to the fact that offensive behavior, offensive emblem (my favorite) and "those who post offensive or unauthorized live stream content" is punishable? Define offensive? Everything me and my friends do is offensive on BF3 & COD - afterall this is an 18+ game right? My first emblem was a plane flying into the twin towers with flames coming out - this was hysterical, not because of what happened, but the fact we made a freakin emblem showing it! This is what made it so great for me to progress in Black Ops 1 and unlock more emblem material. Games are going to be so sterilized and P.C. in the next few years; we will look back like we do at the old Looney Toons and ask ourselves, 'what happened?'
@IevildirkI I am tired of it. 100% passing on this game and any other CoD reskins in the future. Give me something new.
My brother's been playing this game for 4 days already! Legit BlueRay though I don't know how. Some countries get them very early.
I honestly scrolled up to see if for some reason this was a Black Ops stream honestly from watching this i see nothing different from BO to BO2 the guns do not even look futuristic.
I'll believe it when I see it. Go on any old CoD game and you'll find more hackers than legitimate players. I call BS Activision.
Every time I play call of the dead, there's always someone using a glitch. like the glitch at the back of the ship by the mule kick perk. or the lighthouse glitch. there's even a glitch by the power room, on the first part of the ship. these all should have been patched. and i'm willing to bet money that in the first week of black ops 2 release, there will already have been videos posted on youtube with glitches for the new zombie maps.Me I never use glitches, because glitches are for bitches.
Kino Der Toten Round 33 2 players, Five Round 21 3 Players, ascension round 33 2 players, Call of the Dead Round 33 2 Players, Never used a glitch.
Just becasue someone has a "legit" disc copy doesnt mean they got the game legitimatly. Not resetting the stats is unfair to everyone else who waited till release to get the game.
@dz99ls Does it really affect anyone what other people have? Within 48 hours you won't be able to tell the difference between people that had it before launch and those that didn't. It really isn't that big of a deal.
@dz99ls I totally agree. What about me that waited 2 hours in the line & See people fulfilling Prestige 0 when I got home??? They should have rested the stats at the moment the game was officially released.
@dz99ls It would be unfair to reset the stats of players that happened to get their game in the mail early. Many online stores will ship products early, especially if there's a holiday before a release date.
@dz99ls Monday was the observance of Veterans Day. The last time a major game released on a Tues following a holiday Mon, my friend got his copy from Amazon on Friday.
People who use glitches, and people that use racist slurs against people of other ethnicities should be banned period. I'm really sick and tired of hearing racist white people on PSN Using the N-word. these people are ignorant little punks, that wouldn't say shit in a real life situation. Also, I think that there should be some kind of penalty system like uncharted has. when the person hosting a game of zombies ends the game, or leaves the game, it's not fair to the other people who spend the time and effort playing. and get far just for some ass wipe hosting to end everything. I really hope that someone at trearch addresses these issues.
Getting it on the Wii U so everybody starts at zero.
I am surprised though they aren't resetting the levels though. It isn't fair to the people who are getting the game tonight and start to play. O well the online started to diminish after MW4 anyways.
@jayd02 wow what a little boy... cry i guess its not fair to the people that get them game months form now that everyone is a higher level too
@CDWJUSTIN If you choose not to get the game when it comes out it is your fault. You can't help the fact that somebody went around the system to get it early and get a head start.
I can tell the intelligence is lacking, those who get access earlier, (Through the beta, or through pulling strings from friends who work at stores, ect.) have an obvious advantage than those who had to wait for it.
No one gives a hoot if they buy it later and get smoked, because they didn't buy it at release. But those at release, expect that everyone is at level 1, leaving it fair for all players, because they themselves couldn't get it like the others.
How about those people that get midnight first, I guess they should wait until you get to play it, what time zone are you in so Activision can make sure you alone get to play a game before someone else does and ruins your virtual rank and status, how else can you feel good about your life right?
I sure hope you do not live in Hawaii because that sure would be a long wait for everyone till it is midnight there. But we all have to wait just for you, because that's fair right?
Did little Jimmy tea-bag your virtual corpse with his 4 hour head start he got on you? Or was it worse did baby get put in a corner and tea-bagged by a level 50 that played it all weekend early? They should have just kept it sealed and waited just for you! I bet you would have waited to be fair to everyone else wouldn't you!
News Flash: This just in, your not the center of the universe other people walk this earth and some even got to play the game before you did!
Wait, did they do the old Naa-Naa-Boo-Boo, I'm better than you, stick your head in Doo-Doo thing to you? Do you need a tissue? Yeah who cares about people not as cool as you that didn't get the game right at midnight, they don't matter since they are not you right?
Lets keep your flawed logic and have all the scores reset after every title update, just to be fair! Just let Activision know when it's OK with you to reset everyone OK, wouldn't want you to stain your game system with tears otherwise if some people got a head start in the virtual world!
@jayd02 Define "not fair"? That would be like saying it is not fair that kids can play the game for 15 hours a day and I can only play for 1-2 hours a day. You are pouting
@grassmanxxx Nice try but no dice sir. They got the game early and got a head start. On top of the fact that they got the game illegally and only some of the people are getting punished for it. Thats your own problem if you can't get on for more then two hours a day. More then anything you should be happy you are only getting on for two hours. It shows that you have better things to do with your day then argue with kids who have no life and just sit and play all day long.
Like I said I'm getting this on the Wii U. I'm only getting it because when I get my Wii U I need a competitive shooter to play. I don't think zombie U has competitive PvP multiplayer.
@jayd02 @grassmanxxx The level of other players doesn't matter after a day or two. The people that have been playing for 48 hours straight will always be there. It is like saying it is unfair to anyone that buys the game a month from now.
It really isn't that big of a deal. It is CoD. Really. It doesn't matter.
@jayd02 I semi agree with you, but barely. Is it fair when the Gamestop I preordered at is in a mall that won't allow a midnight launch, but the store across the street does? Is it fair that sometimes Amazon will sometimes ship a game early to avoid mail being delayed because of holidays?
Who cares? In one year's time people will be playing COD10 : MW4.
Everything in COD is so temporary.
The ban policy I couldn't care for because I don't cheat. The head start thing...well if you have a life and play to have fun, that shouldn't matter either. Besides if you end up being the better player anyway, who cares how far others got with their pre-release copies.
@Solace427 Haha I reported offensive emblems all the time, cut the heck out of the nine year olds screaming over their headsets down.
@galactic88 @Solace427 Funny, that, aye? You don't joke about 9 year olds either. There are way too many KIDS playing these games which are intended for an ADULT audience. Honestly, it's just a game in the end, but the content of the game is only a small portion of why a younger audience should not be allowed to play these games. The other part of it is that these kids simply aren't mature enough to be in a social situation in the context of this game, or like games, with the actual intended audience. You don't see a buch of 9 year olds running around tea-bagging adults why they pound a pint at your local pub. Besides that, it teaches them at a young age that you can be an asshole to someone and the worst thing that will happen to you is that you might get a slap on the wrist by being banned. It has become acceptable for parents to disregard the rating of a game because their spoiled brat of a kid might cry.
@galactic88 My brother and I focused on reporting people at one point lol That was a lot of fun. It actually did cut down the amount of nine year old XD
Something tells me we are going to have to do that ALL OVER AGAIN
So basically think it's fair to let others have a headstart on others who waited for the legit street date or just weren't able to get one early? Sounds like they are already off to a great start at being fair to their customers. I'm sure this is an idication of how fair they'll be with bans, etc.
wish people would stop moaning about this game, if you don't want to play it you don't have to, just ignore it! -.-
@Hardstyler2012 I wish we could, but CoD has had a nasty habit of sneaking bits of itself into other games as of late.
Cool, now I can report people every time I see some generic emblem with animals having sex, black people hanging from trees, or any other sorry attempt at shock humor in order to entice other people into anger. They will be banned for a few days, making THEM angry instead lol.
@Xentarm are they that stupid to bring that option back? Hell I got banned and didn't even have a offensive emblem......unless a skull and bones is that offensive.....blah
