Movie theater chain AMC hosting events to try Naughty Dog's PS3 exclusive on the big screen, get the game via FedEx a week before the official launch.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception doesn't hit stores until November 1, but Sony and AMC Theatres are giving eager gamers a chance to play the game early on the big screen: first at one of a handful of AMC events around the country, and then at home.
From October 18 through October 20, AMC locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, New York, and Dallas will host Uncharted "Play It First In 3D" events that will let gamers do exactly that. The events will host multiplayer tournaments for Naughty Dog's latest PlayStation 3 exclusive, a look at the development of the game from the studio, and PlayStation-themed giveaways throughout the night.
That portion of the event will cost $25 to attend, but gamers who pony up $60 for the Uncharted 3 Premium Pass will also have a copy of the game shipped to them via FedEx on October 25, a week before it hits stores. Uncharted 3 will focus on protagonist Drake's search for a lost city, with the wily adventurer finding his way to the Arabian Peninsula and its bleak Empty Quarter. In addition to the new multiplayer overhauls, the game will feature stereoscopic 3D capability, new stealth and melee maneuvers, and more. The game will debut alongside the first novel based on the series, Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth.

@sawzeroo I believe that and its called rentals which I reserve for games that does not interest me or I would just play if there is no AAA game title deserving of my $60. Something I should have reserved for a title like Gears 3.
Nah Pass! I'll get it anyway. In an actual release date and price. I'm not gonna lust on it. Besides am still figuring out how to squeeze time from Work, Dark Souls, Rage, and Skyrim. Playing Resistance 3 Multiplayer for my downtime as of the moment. Am still unhappy over my Gears Of War 3 purchase

@Toysoldier34 On the other hand, they're giving out free stuff, which they're under no obligation to do. So rather than us complaining about them not visiting every tiny hamlet in America, let's just say "huh, neat!" and move on.
I got to hand it to Sony. They are either gonna fleece some gamers out of $$ or make them happy. How much is this game, $60?
@flyinknee91 It is in New York which isn't a horrible drive. I am stuck just south of Seattle and I am out of luck. Though I did get to go to PA so I guess that is better anyways since I played it there too.
5 Cities in the US. 2 Being withing a quick drive of each other. This only applies to a very very small percentage of people buying the game. People get early copies of games all the time legally. Nothing new other than this being very public and promotional and not many gamers can actually participate.
Ohhhh man.. Playing Uncharted at the cinema would be bliss.. Darn you America!! Enjoy it guys.
Sometimes it really feels like Naughty Dog is trying to screw Europeans as hard as possible. One month early multiplayer access for USA only (sponsored by Subway), this early release for USA only and the european collectors edition is double the price of the American one. Europeans get to fight max level players on day 1 only because of their region and pay more for that joy...
Gears of War 3 did not disappoint. I am guessing this one won't either. Glad I got both systems. I have to say I played beta's for both and was not impressed with Uncharted 3 multi-player. Single player it will be great I am sure.
So did I hear this correctly: We pony up 60 bucks to try the game early in 3D and get the game a week early at a discount price? I don't mind selling the game a week early if people are willing to pay more than 60 for it.

Also im encouraged to go to this event, but i really want to get the collectors edition and im not sure if they are letting people have early access to that, but probably not so i guess ill just have to wait till november 1
@KAM100000 I absolutly agree. While battlefield 3 and MW3 have there little sissy fight, Uncharted 3 and Gears of War 3 are gonna show full force what the Xbox 360 vs. Playstation 3 war is all about. i know Uncharted 3 is going to be a great game and im getting it day one, but i just got Gears of War 3 and i have to say that its a pretty damn good game. I guess we'll just to wait and see...
thats a pretty cool deal I wish microsoft and Sony did this sort of thing all the time for big budget games like U3. Just imagine if they did that sort of deal for Quake arena before that game hit the market man that would of been an awesome night!
Why pay $60 for an early copy of the game and a night out when I can pay $110 in Australia for the game and get it on the release date. Oh wait.

3D doesn't really interest me to be honest, I've never even watched a film in 3D so I'm not going to play my games in 3D haha
DC and Dallas, but not Chicago? I sad. Oh well, I got Uncharted 2 almost 2 weeks early at a similar, private event awhile back.
Too many other games to play to be worrying about snatching U3 a week early. I'll wait for the GOTY edition and pay less for more content. U2 GOTY edition was awesome and it only cost me $15 @Walmart.

Not as good as the UC2 event, paying only $10 for the event and getting the game that very night, but still a great deal. Can't wait.

@mad_krips @jporter313 @Groove60 If you pay $25, you go to the event. If you pay $60, you go to the event AND get the game. The premium pass is a bundle so you're just paying $35 extra to get the game which will be mailed to you a week early.

The only game I can genuinely say, you should own a PS3 for. Likewise if it were a 360 exclusive. Awesome game!
I may have to correct what I posted earlier. If this event with an early copy of Uncharted 3 is $25 (event) + $60 (week early copy of the game) = $85, forget that, I will wait a week later and save $25.
@dRuGGeRnaUt it's $60 for the game with shipping a week early included, normal price for new video games with the possibility of no tax being added since it's being sold as a pass and not retail. $25 for entry to the event. To get the game a week early you have to go to the event, total $85 if you go and buy the game there. Don't know where you got the "extra $35" from. And by the way, EA is doing what you speak of right now with EA Sports Season Ticket to get games a few days early.
