If this game doesn't get a 10 and it is better than the last game then that wouldn't make any since. Uncharted 2 got a 9.0 to a 9.5 almost everywhere and a 10 in some places. Why is it that websites shy away from giving exclusive games a 10 score. Not saying Gamespot is going that route but I just have noticed a trend across the board. Uncharted 2 should have been a 10 but not many wanted to rate it that high. Why not it deserved it. See ya!!! My UC3 full experience multiplayer just finished downloading.
Naughty Dog confirms development has wrapped on latest chapter in Nathan Drake-led action adventure; new retail copies include Starhawk beta access.
What do Nathan Drake and Uncharted 3 have in common? They both have a thing for gold. Today, Naughty Dog announced via the PlayStation Blog that development has wrapped on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, paving the way for a November 1 release exclusively on the PlayStation 3.
Along with announcing the game's completion, Naughty Dog also said that new retail copies of Uncharted 3 will come packed with an access voucher for the Starhawk public beta-testing phase. The Starhawk beta is expected to begin in early 2012, and Sony plans to release more information on the online multiplayer test through that game's official website.
Uncharted 3 will focus on protagonist Drake's search for a lost city, with the wily adventurer finding his way to the Arabian Peninsula and its bleak Empty Quarter. In addition to the new multiplayer overhauls, the game will feature stereoscopic 3D capability, new stealth and melee maneuvers, and more.
The game will debut alongside the first novel based on the series, Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage of Uncharted 3.
@MEDzZ3Ro well GOTY usually packs up awesome story+gameplay+multiplayer... The overall winner gotta have that all, but good games such as Batman might win the best combat award, or Skyrim for Worth Your Money Award.. We will see, cant wait :D
Everybody who gave me thumbs down are exactly the folks I was talking bout, the ones that suck. Because there's nothing not to like bout UCs MP except if your not good at it. UCs MP breaks up the norm from reg fps-tps shooters with fluid climbing- aiming and movement, my one only grip is I wish they would up the DM player total to 8 on 8, it looks like the maps ate big enough to support it
@No_SuRReNDeR True enough. It's so easy to overlook other potential contenders this year, this year has arguably been the strongest year we've had this generation for quality games. There are loads of sequels to games that won GOTY before: Skyrim, Portal 2, Gears Of War 3, Dark Souls, Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham Cuty, Assassin's Cree: Revelations, Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword, (love it or hate it) Modern Warfare 3, Crysis 2, Super Mario 3D Land, Battlefield 3, Halo: Anniversary Edition and Little Big Planet 2. Other strong releases such as L.A Noire and Forza Motorsport 4 are not to be snuffed at. Remakes of old GOTY winners have also come out this year such as Resident Evil 4 HD, Crysis (consoles) and Mass Effect 2 (PS3). From a judging point of view it's pretty lucky Bioshock Infinite and Mass Effect 3 weren't out this year or it would make the decision even harder. Whichever game wins this year is one hell of a game and very deserving of a victory, more so then for most years. 2007 is the last time I remember it was so closely contested. Look forward to seeing what happens.
@MEDzZ3RO -agreed-- I think as much as I LOVE this series you're right, the competition for GOTY is tough this time. So many awesome titles to come and I am really digging dark Souls ATM. Who knows maybe we are all over looking a game series that has consistently been at the top of every list in the past? ----->The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword -I will be re-buying a Wii for that alone.
@cstv once again I agree with you.COD has consistently been getting high scores year after year even though it's more or less the same thing while games that have improved greatly(Infamous 2) get mediocre scores.I swear to God if Tom Gives Uncharted 3 anything below a 9.5 .It's already better than Uncharted 2 so it should atleast get a 9.5 as well.
@MEDzZ3RO Why you got all the thumbs down god only knows.. I'm with you all the way though man, you spoke the truth and nothing more.
@Harrymanhunter1 i have seen a lot of reviews here which are just not right, and then you have a wagon full of call of duty games, who never do a single thing different but are still counted in the editor's choice....
@cstv I agree with you.I lost all faith in him after the pathetic score he gave Infamous 2(IT DESERVED MORE THAN a 7.5!) but since he did give Uncharted 2 a 9.5 I don't know what he'll do.All I know is he'll do something to stir up some controversy.
mark my words, this game will get a score of 8.0 or a maximum of 8.5, mr mcshea will pummel this game down with statements like uneven pacing, laggy MP, no changes from the previous title and so on....you can thumb me down as much as you want but this is what is going to happen
As soon as I get my flux capacitor installed in my delorean the first thing I'll will do is go to november 1st and get this.
Oh, I wish I had time to replay the first two uncharted games. Aw well, Ive played through both enough times that Ive got the plots memorized.
So much for that in the planning stages trip to Fla. Novembers game releases require me to stay home and play.
Uncharted 3 was already good enough to be gold when the beta released, so yeah, right now, it's going platinum.
A nice (possibly corn and / or peanut laden) greenish-brown one. Not too hard, but not too runny... as to let it's goodness seep in to the very pits of the disc. Then top it off by mashing into it a copy of the equally good 'Uncharted 2'.
@RGDT021 LOL, but seriously you don't take a dump on Uncharted 3, it takes a dump on you with it's awesomeness. You'll be covered in the sweetest gameplay farts, the most perfumed story, graphic, story filled turds you have ever witnessed. Then you can clean yourself off, go buy MW3 at midnight, take it home at 12:01, squat over it, and take a dump on that. At least with that game, you'll then have two dumps for the price of one.
Ha the title confused me for a second I was thinking "how is it gong gold or platinum? I though it wasn't released yet" lol
Definitely a midnight buy! Also definitely a 12:01 open it up, squat over it, and take a nice big dump on it! Probably 1.5 - 2 coils.
I used to think that the term "has gone gold" was a bit exaggerated, because when artists get a gold record (you could then say that they" have gone gold") it means that they have sold a lot of records. For game companies it means that they have finished developing a game (Yay, we haven't sold anything!). Now I understand know what an achievement it is to develop a game (as opposed to getting an achievement in a game :P). Since I'm a PC gamer and Uncharted is a PS3 exclusive, it's still uncharted territory for me.
I was going to put off getting this until next year. However, I might pick it up earlier for the Starhawk beta key. I am interested in seeing what Starhawk is about, though I don't know that I'll pick up the full thing. Sure, Starhawk is the spiritual successor to Warhawk. It's just too bad that it's not the spiritual successor to the Warhawk that I actually liked.
@sleepnsurf Based on the BETA and compared with the campaign I'd agree Uncharted 3 isn't as visually strong in multiplayer however when compared with Gears Of War 3 It doesn't look so bad. Gears 3 is a great looking game but compare it with the campaign desert footage we've seen and it's not in the same league.Only games on consoles I can think of which come close are Killzone 3 and God Of War 3. I also agree it won't win Game Of The Year this year, it'll be good but I think Battlefield 3, Skyrim , Portal 2 and Dark Souls are more likely candidates varying from site to site.
uncharted multiplayer isn't for me :p it's the EPIC single player campaign i'll be getting it for, just watching that awesome cargo plane level got me pumped :D UNCHARTED FTW!!!!!!
The multi-player stinks. I cannot believe how bad the graphics are too. I guess that is what i get for playing it after Gears of War 3. Rental for the single player. THIS WILL NOT GET GAME OF THE YEAR, SORRY!
I hope the multiplayer is still like warhawk, It still holds up gameplay wise to this day, and its pretty old now.
@warhawk-geeby Oh I see. Warhawk was my first game on the PS3 and I loved it, so ill definitely look into that.
@UWantFryzWitDat Dude you NEED to look up Starhawk. It's the spiritual successor to Warhawk and looks bad-ass. @BibiMaghoo It's a great way to advertise that's why it's with Uncharted. The millions of people that will play Uncharted 3 will now have access to another exclusive that they may not have heard of previously. It's brilliant marketing, and great for Lightbox Interactive (Starhawk's makers) :D
I guess I'm going to have to break my "don't buy games when they're released" rule and pick this one up. The Subway promo for a month of free multiplayer has been pretty awesome.
I am pumped for this game!! My only complaint is that there are too many good games releasing too close together!!! Ugh Dark Souls, Batman, Uncharted, Assassins, not enough time lol.
wow, kinda strange they didnt put the beta code with a game everyone wasnt already going to buy lol.
tired of this... shooter... pretty the same over and over again... don't make me wrong, next year sequel is already done... just change some small features... good for you who's expecting the same game again... RPG? go Dark Souls! lol
yea along with a liking for gold, uncharted is also drake's....i dont know.......only means of existence?
