Valve proved that you can lower game prices and still make tons of money with Steam. Valve proved you can have rampant piracy and still make money. Once again, EA and Activision are in shock wondering how is this possible!?! HINT: When you drop a game like Borderlands with all DLC to 5 dollars, people will buy it even if they weren't thinking about playing it!

Well I'd make money if people would pay $100 for virtual wedding rings from me too. I like the games valve makes, and steam is good too but the whole TF2 hats and stupid proposal rings are just annoying. Still on the fence about the steam box but will see how it looks.

Half life was ahead of it's time, so was Steam. Steam is the reason for this valuation. Good for them.

Intrigued about this company and where its going. I like innovation. And this company seems to be very innovative. I hope their console offers all that innovation at a cheap/reasonable price.

I can't believe this company isn't traded publicly. I would have invested years ago.

Valve is one of the last company that can truly say are pc companies.

Despite having a few issues with Steam, I gotta hand it to Valve, their service allows people to get hold of alotta killer games far cheaper and more convenient than console makers would ever allow. For that, I tip my hat to them. They've earned their billions.

We haven't even seen Episode 3 yet... Half-Life 3 would be a dream come true.

It is a pretty solid distribution platform - there are some ongoing niggles but genereally it is solid and primed perfectly to enter the streaming platform sector... Role on Steam Box.
