Web-based PlayStation Store now live

Sony launches new online store allowing users to purchase PS3 and PS Vita games, as well as movies and TV shows.
As promised, Sony has launched a Web-based PlayStation Store in North America. The virtual marketplace allows users to purchase PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games, as well as television shows and movies.
A "PSP" tab is visible on the website, though it, alongside various other pages, does not appear to be functional.
The Web-based PlayStation Store allows users to sort content through a number of filters, including demos, betas, add-ons, full games, and more. In addition, some listings include PlayStation Plus prices listed alongside the standard rate.
The platform launched in Europe and 15 other countries last month. Competitor Microsoft has offered a similar service through Xbox.com since November 2008.

FINALLY Sony catches up and does what should have been done a long time ago. I like the fact that this is much better to use than the PS Store on the PS3. Ever since the "upgrade" to the new PS Store, I can't stand using it.
I seen the Final Fantasy sale and was all about it...on the website...no where to be found. ugh
Not so impressed. It needs to have the functionality of sending the download to our consoles, or at least for us Plus subscribers that have automatic download enabled.

they should add debit card payment option.. right now with those payment options it sucks.
at least it is faster than running it on my console. and sometimes I just wanna search something and the search engine would crash i.e next letter won't show up, or suddenly get a 08883443 something error lol
Hardly useful, as you still need to turn on your PS3 and go to account settings > download list > find that download > start that download. Which is more painful than just going to in-game store and start downloading. This entire web process should have been automated.
@Gamer_4_Fun With playstation plus, my ps3 turns on at 4 in the morning (or whatever time you want) and signs in, then downloads any updates, games, demos, or DLCs that I've set to download. So with the online store, theoretically I could buy a game on there and then the next day it would be waiting on my ps3. I haven't tried it with the web store yet though. Maybe they'll even add a feature where you can tell your playstation to turn on from the webstore after you purchase a game and immediately download it. That would be nice.
@Gamer_4_Fun They are working on auto-downloads (they already said it on the Official blog), so you can buy on the web store, and when you turn your PS3/PSV on the games start downloading.

Yeah, I'd love to give them some money but you know what? They don't want any. Can't pay because I have credit card from different country than what was initially specified. You are so nice Sony, keeping me from going on a shopping spree :).
@theend3r This, so much this. It really doesn't help when I want to buy something small and I'm forced to buy 25 pound cards all the time.
@SirNormanislost @Redpool @theend3r Nope, I was actually very excited when they added PayPal as, I too, thought it would solve the issue. Still region-locked.

1 Like I just bought something on website to see how easy it was. man it was easy.
When i went to my ps3 to see if the item i bought would start downloading they didn't. I still had to go into my download and manually start the process.
@820west If their competitors cn do it with an extra click, Sony should be able to, too. Agreed!
@shadowhunter0 @820west The point is that it can, in fact, make the service better. Sure maybe it's not really needed, but it would be nice wouldn't it?
Thats good to hear. I was thinking about if you buy a 24 episode series and then have to download each one of those individuality would become vary time consuming.
@820westbut just found out that they are working on it though it is going to be called automatic remote downloads so they are actually working on it
