Why is this only a limited edition offer? And why does everyone get so critical of Microsoft for offering a second color of their console but not even blink when Nintendo announces a new color scheme for one of their systems every three months?
White Xbox 360 Kinect bundle now shipping
Microsoft's limited-edition package includes alabaster console, motion sensor, controller, Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports for $300.
Color-conscious gamers for a limited time have the chance to pick up an Xbox 360 in something other than dreary black. Today, Microsoft announced the glossy white Xbox 360 Special Edition 4GB Kinect Family Bundle is now shipping to retailers in the US, and it will launch in Europe and Brazil within the next few months.
Both the console and its Kinect complement will be recast in white, and Microsoft will also be including a white Xbox 360 wireless controller. The bundle also includes a three-month Xbox Live Gold subscription, as well as retail copies of Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures. It costs $299.99.
Those interested in just the white controller can buy it separately for $49.99.
