@annoyingdevil You might as well say that the DS's touck screen s only useful for drawing games, even though it's used in some way on every single game the system has to offer(to my knowledge).

too late, nintendo is no longer relevant for serious gaming. and the other consoles now offer casual gaming...you're done!

Hopefully Nintendo has just been cheap in order to get money for their new system... watch them blow us out of the water with something incredible at E3 O__o

if Nintendo did launch their next console on 2011 or 2012 then when sony and micorsoft launch their console it will be in UHD (ultra HD) while nintendo still using HD.. Nintendo will be wiped out, again..

Always makes me chuckle when alledged "gamers" start dissing anything Nintendo puts out especially as the Wii wiped the floor with Xbox & PS3, going in a direction they never even dreamed of.

I've stuck by Nintendo through the worst of times and i always will, if Zelda didn't exist though i would of ditched it years ago. God i hope this tablet controller thing isn't true, that would be god awful to play with.

I'd like to think Nintendo could push something out more considerably powerful than its then previous-generation competitors, but I guess we'll see... Either way, I doubt this is true. I can't imagine having a screen in my hands in addition to the TV in front of me. It's not like a DS, where the screens are inches apart. This would just be exhausting.

If they are doing this, I just hope that this tablet is just an option, and not part of the standard controller.

More gimmicks to try to sell lame underpowered hardware. EPIC FAIL again, Nintendo. That's 3 in a row, strikeout! Oh, and no Nintendo console for the past 10 years has been competitive in terms of hardware, no reason to expect that to change. They cheap out on the hardware components, and it shows in the games, which look pretty bad.

I certainly expect that Nintendo's next console will have HD graphics and processing capability at least on par with the top tier consoles today. Beyond that it's just fun to speculate.

@ManiacKawaii yeah 90% of the Wii is 3rd party minigame games that just murder the console for me..... the bad thing is nintendo has fallen prey to the money it brings and may continue on the Cafe..... i just hope that is not the case.

I like nintendo for being innovative though this talk about making third-party priority keeps me concerned..I mean what are best games on wii? Super Smash Mario Brawl; Super Mario Galaxy; Zelda series..the only good third-party I could recall are No More Heroes and Resident Evil 4 hardware being more powerful than current gen sounds possible, though I wonder why they'd do that? It'll only boost wii 2's price and as we know graphics weren't always nintendo's major sell point.

I can guarantee that the next Wii will be much more expensive then the current version. Makes sense though because they have a huge base of current wii owners and fans, many of which are casual gamers, who will buy the Wii2 regardless of the price. Pretty genius on the part of Nintendo. I'm kinda excited to see more and I'm not a big Wii fan.

I like what the Sony did with the PS3. Normal joypad with an optional gyroscope. Take note, Nintendo, stop trying to make gimmicks to earn you a quick buck!

@illage2 Well the only problem with that is Apple isn't currently the only company with a tablet pc. SO are you meaning that every company will file a patent claim against each other? Their is the Apple iPad, Motorola Xoom, and others I do believe.

Maybe Nintendo can earn my money. when this console comes out.

A tablet would be pretty hard on the arms - those things are not meant for marathon usage, even more so than motion controls. I'll wait until I see it in action before I get too excited, but it is Nintendo - if they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt, nobody does.

When I first heard about the Wii controller I thought it would suck! I was pleasantly suprised, so I have faith that Nintendo will do a great job with their next gen controller. BUT, if they make a controller that is a tablet/touch screen it is going to be insanely priced.I guarantee it.

I will have this thing at launch. With plenty of money made from the Wii, and plenty of time for R&D, this thing should be affordable and pack plenty of features. I am very excited for E3. I would really even like to go to this one.

The last thing I would want to control games with is an iPad. The DS setup works pretty well. I like having the extra screens and stylus capabilities. If anything, a small touchscreen like the bottom DS screen might be useful, but it still has to be a well thought-out, ground-up design. Touchscreen-only controls would prevent me from buying it.

@illage2 in that case, shouldn't Apple be sued by all the companies that made tablets before them? but if we are talking about touch screen gaming specifically, since the DS was out YEARS before the iPhone I guess Nintendo should be able to sue Apple for everything their worth, right?

I don't think there will be a HD screen, what if the controller allows you to plug in the 3DS into the controller and use it that way? It would be a lot cheaper to manufature, which means it would be a lot cheaper on release date. However by the time the 7th gen consoles are history, the new PS4 and Xbox 720 would be a lot more powerful, so could PC's.

I bet that Apple will file a lawsuit against Nintendo for the Tablet controller, oh poor nintendo you have lost out before you even begun. The only Wii games I own are Resident evil 4 and Metroid Prime trilogy.

@ishan9 Well the PSP came out a year before the PS3 & the NGP comes out this year. I expect an announcement by the years end for both the new Xbox & Playstation. I predict the Xbox spec's to be: AMD 6 core (ie: 3 core 2X PE per core) custom APU bult on bulldozer artchitecture. Coupled with a custom dual GPU based on the 6950 with a lower clock speed. 4 Gig of 1600MHz DDR3 Ram (with a expansion slot for another 4 Gig 3 years down the line). Dual 500gb HDD running in RAID 0. And a HD DVD drive tri-layer disc's for reatil (anti-piracy).

@annoyingdevil Your definition of 'casual' is completely flawed. 'Casual' gamers are gamers who only play a couple times a week due to boredom, other hobbies/interests, etc., whereas 'hardcore' gamers make time to play everyday and complete their games and find every secret and unlock every thing they can possibly unlock in the game. Example, 'casual' gamers are gamers who haven't beaten, let's say, Super Mario 64, whereas 'hardcore' gamers can play Super Mario 64 in their heads they've beaten it so many times.

Tablets look like they are the future of computers

it might be better then current PS and XBox consoles but then straight after the next PS and xbox will smash the topnam out of the wii 2

unconfirmed no point bothering too take notice of anything to do with this till E3..... they may as well have just said it was a toaster for all it matters
