WildStar confirmed for 2013 release

Latest preview version of sci-fi themed MMO game will be on display at the Penny Arcade Expo East in April.

NCsoft and Carbine Studios' upcoming massively multiplayer online game WildStar now has a confirmed release window.

According to a WildStar blog entry from executive producer Jeremy Gaffney, the game is slated to be ready in 2013. The post did not state any dates for a closed beta, open beta, or launch. The latest version of the game will be featured at this year's Penny Arcade Expo East game convention in April.

WildStar is an upcoming sci-fi themed MMO game that features a path system where quest types are determined by the class players start with. For more on the game, check out the preview video below.

That chick with the bunny ears is one shining example of why I have no interest in this game, despite being a big MMO and sci-fi fan. Also the cartoony WoW style art in general. The gameplay may be decent, but if I can't stand to look at the game then it is a miss for me. I doubt it's going to be the only MMO coming out this year with decent gameplay and not featuring what I consider to be silly looking art.

Also, class based+ level based=not interested.

I wish the game the best of luck and prosperity in this current hit or miss (usually miss) MMO genre, but I know it is not going to a game for me.

Anyone else think bunny chick looks unhealthily skinny in the waist and overly huge in the breasteses?

Other than the bright colors that landscape looks extremely bland and boring. But of course you can put up a picture of a cute bunny chick with huge t**s and at least the guys will be interested right?

I disagree about the landscape looking bland and boring. I found it more pleasing than most games.

@andrecaseiro @brxricano Its technically classified as a fetish, which is only bad or funny if youre a virgin. In the case of Sly Cooper, I doubt it was intimate, you probably just related to that character more than others. Or it was intimate, in which case, so what lol. Its your world, who am I to poopoo on that. I said go fig simply because just that. I cant identify with it myself but again, so what. Better than wearing diapers right???......too much?

I'm really looking forward to this one. Good to see an original MMO that isn't the generic Swords and Sorcery. I've been following the dev's blogs, they're really pushing community voice for this game. Its good to see.

Seeing alot of hate in these comments. This game looks very promising, and that's simply from a "looks" standpoint. Let alone all the great things I've heard about classes/professions/crafting/and mixing all that into the gameplay to the players benefit. I personally love the look and feel of this game, can't wait to see the UI, and hear more details about how the gameplay is different from other MMO's (Or just like our favorites, but upgraded )

Hey this actually looks pretty good.

Very easy on the eyes. Nice use of colours and all that.

It looks maybe a bit too much like WoW but I actually don't mind as long as it's a good game.

This is definitely something I'll keep an eye out for.

Tough with MMOs though. So many things could go wrong and ruin the whole experience.
