Xbox 360 reaches 67 million life-to-date sales

they both are great systems that have flaws and still have made lil changes to fix them idc what these idiots on here comments say.. ive had both since release date but wouldnt pick one over the other  

I have personally bought 4 now. 3 have rrod on me and the 4th I sold on eBay at launch for a ridiculous amount of money.

This might seem strange but I'm probably the luckiest guy in the world.I've never had ANY of my consoles break down.PS1,PS2 & PS3 haven't broke down,XBOX & XBOX360 never got a red ring.Nintendo,Super Nintendo,GameCube,Atari2600,nothing has ever broke down on me. Even my old 1979 PONG didn't break down on meNow that's what you'd call lucky!

Well how about all the ones that red ringed so ppl bought another one? I helped with 2 my friend has had 4 new ones since launch so thats 6 between 2 ppl.

alot of people are talking about console failures will it is a simple as this. the more you use something the more likely it is to break i have only had nintendo systems not break on me. both my ps1 and ps2 broke. the ps2 twice my original xbox broke and my 360 got the rrod 3 times till i put it in a nice spot with breathing room. my ps3 is fine since i rarely ever use it. heck the last game i bought on it was uncharted 3

Such hypocrites on here...complain about fanboys of one system only to make it clear that they are in fact fanboys of another.

Congrats to Microsoft on selling 67 million consoles. Now they need to sort out their dashboard which has got slower with each iteration and now puts adverts above functionality.

I have both 360 and ps3 and i have to say while i don't like fanboys ps 3 fanboys are the worst. All they can keep on about is rrod when A microsoft extended the warranty and fixed most of them from for free something i don't think sony would have done if it was there system. Secondly newer models tend not to get rrod . xbox is a good system where you can play games like alan wake, left 4 dead, halo, gears, radient sliver gun and guardian heroes and a mixture of top quality games from microsoft and third partyies. the ps 3 is the place to play uncharted, god of war and yakuza. 

the 360 is a lot more user friendly than the ps 3. if ps 3 fans liked there console so much they would be to busy playing there ps 3 to come on here and slag off the xbox. both machines are good but with xbox live and with how user friendly the xbos is with the fact  for the most part the have the same games gives the xbox the edge

360's must be cheaper for them to make. Might be the lack of Blu-ray. Hand it to Microsoft for knowing how to make Billions upon Billions. There is nothing wrong with PS3 or 360, why can't people realize it's only their preference and nobody is going to lose sleep because someone likes one better than the other. Why don't you argue over Blondes vs. Brunettes or some other pointless argument.

The PS3 has sold 64 million (as of March 31st, 2011).  The Wii has sold in the 90 Million plus range.  The 360 is just announced as being 67 milllion?  How in God's good name is that 45 percent of the console market?  They must be Republicans because only Republicans can pass off fuzzy math as fact (see--Supply Side Economics).

Windows 8 is going to be garbage. Anyone upgrading is making a mistake, the crap Microsoft is pulling is not worth the ability to play Xbox 360 games. What good is that for anyways? Halo and Gears? Forza maybe? There aren't many GOOD exclusives to take advantage of. If you have a gaming PC, you're best sticking with Windows 7.

lets get some FACTS straight. gen 1 and gen 2 360 had a 10% RROD rate. Gen 3, gen 4, gen 5, gen 6, and the current gen 7 models have a RROD rate less than 1%.

(I love my ps3 and my 360... and I love that the sony fan boys are bringing up the 5 year old RROD issue that has LONG been fixed... but I dont see you bringing up the little hacking issue, or the no in-system chat or game invite system)

ALSO RROD consoles are refurbished and RESOLD. they do not count as NEW sales. so to say their sales are void is fine, seedcase when they are resold as referbished units, then you can count that sale in your book or your own little universe that you created to somehow make your self feel better about some number that doesnt even matter in your life at all any way.

and just FYI I bought TWO ps3 becuase I bought it at luanch and hated it! and then waited for the slim and bought it agian. not to mention I bought 2 ps2s over its lifetime. So Xbox owner are not the ONLY owner to ever buy a console twice! and when I got a RROD Microsoft GAVE me a new xbox. which does not count as a sale!

I cant believe how defensive sony fan boys take ANY news about a 360 being sold in the world. like you just have to validate to your self that you made the correct choice when your bought your ps3, and make all 360 feel like %%%%. ok! you win! 360 sux. you can go back bed now and have sweet dreams.

You want some truth? more games are actully played on the 360 than the ps3. The 360 has more hardcore gamers than ps3. More people jsut watch netflix on their ps3 than play games. ALSO worldwide sales may be close. but NORTH AMERICAN sales are NOT. 360 has nearly a 20% lead on ps3 in North America. oh no. what about your self validation now? more of your American buddies decided to get a 360! WHO CARES. BOTH SYSTEMS KICK %%%! stop caring how many units are sold and go enjoy playing games!!!

Come on, we all knew the RROD jokes were going to be on tap like a keg at a homecoming bonfire the moment you read the title. At the end of the day, they must be doing something right, people keep buying them.

They've sold so many units because the console is a piece of crap and u have to buy multiples. Mine just broke yesterday AGAIN and now i have to get a new one...

Microsoft says... But looking at wii sales I think they may be wrong.

oh and if you are all gonna argue over who's the bestest because you love them for no reason, how about not argueing over failed units, pretty safe bet the faulty 360's are about the same as the knackered blu-ray drives in ps3's.
