Xbox 360 sells 960,000 systems over Thanksgiving week

@ebookerd1 Yeah I have been a Live member for at least 6 years. My xbox crapped out on me after it was fixed a few years before that. I called customer service, i gave them my specs, and they gave me the new gen black xbox. I had recently bought a 250gb hard drive so they gave me one with that capacity. I have never complained about Microsoft since. But i do take it back about Sony. After my account was hacked and tons of $ was withdrawn from PSN account, they sent me a Vita. Although it did take a few angry phone calls and emails. ;)

@MoreThot PS3 had to play catchup with its software library genius. Again do a little research. Harping on lack of built in WiFi is just sad. Its an extra feature that wasn't a big deal when the Xbox launched and was later incorporated after it became more integrated into society. It helped to cut down on costs making it more affordable in its early years. You really have no clue do you. And please, copy what I've said and show everyone how I negate what I say. You asked me to go back to your post as evidence I didn't know what I was talking about. So I did and showed that everything I said was based on what you yourself had said. @phatjam98 ok and tell me everything that this update is going to improve/implement/patch up on the current xbl interface/platform... oh and please site a credible reference. and 2 I didn't ever say in any of those sentences that mgs4 was the last console game i played... I stated its the last console game i REALLY played... meaning actually put time into.. @mike300zxt Almost all governments are a republic. By saying democracy you specify how the process takes place. Correcting someone in the opposite is akin to correcting someone to their being white, when they are talking about skin pigmentation. The problem with the US is that it doesn't necessarily run like a democracy (because it is so corrupt) and that it was designed to be bigoted.

@Warhawk-geeby to answer the question about which direction xbox is going to take with the new system, you should read the article that came out about it. They have a part in it that says that they are considering making 2 different levels of consoles. One for the more hardcore gamer and one for the recreational one.

They sold more this week then they did in the same period last year. Amazing. That was without a price cut on M$ part. Imagine what they would have sold if they actually cut the price? My only question now is, how many PS3 and Wii units were sold in the U.S. during B.F.?

@phatjam98 ps3 fanboy? lol hardly, i rarely even play my ps3 and even more so my 360, the most either of these systems see in action is playing a movie. I'm a pc player for the better control and superior hardware. Plus the last game i really played was MGS4, all the other games you mentioned i played on pc.

@Icehearted Yes in 2008 there were so many new members that XBL experienced slowdowns, downtime and disconnects.... for 2 weeks.... without any personal info being stolen or other issues. Then MS corrected the infrastructure and it has never been a problem since. So what are you kids talking about. @Icehearted That was in 2004/05 when XBL got slammed by millions of new accounts. Since then XBL has been massivly overhauled to ensure it doesn't happen again. There has been no down time, no slow connections and no problems. So what are you talking about?

And since you have an Old PC, exactly what games are you playing on PSN? CS: Source? Give me a break. And you are pumped about 3.8 mil uncharted sold? Really? Sure that is a good figure for a game... however when compared to other games... Halo3(14.5 mil) COD Black Ops(12mil), Gears(5mil) GTA4(4.2mil) and those are Xbox 360 numbers only. COD Black Ops total was around 15mil, GTA 4 was at around 7mil. The top selling game for PS3 is GT5 at 6.4 mil. Give me a break with Uncharted. LOL

If u don't play BF 3 on recommended settings now what are you going to play in a couple years without upgrading probably nothing great. Xbox was released in 2005 and plays BF 3. Let's see your 2005 Gaming PC do that? Your really not saving money if you go cheap on a gaming PC. A GTX 460 with i5 intel or equilavant is ok for now but it won't last you very long PC tech pretty much doubles every 18 months. Crysis was released in 2008 and the minimum requirements are 6800 GT 256 mb with Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz. You can't play BF 3 on that PC.

@eBentl I only say Steam is an XBL clone because its social features like friends and acheivments came after XBL. Steam is an online store so their really is no comparison. And while you could build a 700 PC to play most games, that is still 500 more than a basic console and 400 more than a premium one. Also, while PC's can be hooked up to plasma and LCD TV's these days, how many people are going to set up a PC in their living room? Again, I am a PC gamer at heart, but the Devs have pretty much left us out in the cold. The last great PC exclusive was Crysis and since then there havn't been any limit pushers to speak of. Its sad.

The last time something like this happened Xbox Live burst into flames, and we were gifted a mediocre game for it's downtime. It'll be interesting to see where the Gold subscriptions go after all the freebie time is used up... and you just know they're going to chirp about the rise in subscription as if the freebies had nothing to do with it. I also have to wonder how many of these are people replacing their sh***y hardware. Mine's an old core that doesn't even have HDMI on it (I think it was a first run) and even I was tempted to give in and replace it, but it still technically works, and my new PS3 slim runs more quietly anyway. I guess all I'm trying to say is that these numbers will all have to be taken with a grain of salt.

While the 4gb hdd is small and unable to hold much, hard drives are going down in price and will drop even more so as time goes by. So it's a moot point, really.

@Phatjam98 PC gaming has become somewhat cheaper, Could build a $700 system to play probably everything but maybe bf3 on ultra settings and when talking about screen size a PC can be hooked up to a TV just as easily as a console. Also to call Steam an XBL copy seems kinda ridiculous, as you said yourself, they're not really comparable. I agree with must of the things you said but that stuff was a bit off.

@Warlord_Irochi Why fix what isn't broken? Would never trade in my M&K for a clumsy controller(I can play with a controller,but aiming feels stiff,unnatural compared to my mouse...) Also,if you're a PC gamer,you're always left with an option to plug in whatever you want to play your games on... Also,how are M&K relevant to this discussion?
