Xbox Live Update: Fruit Ninja Kinect cuts up tomorrow

Microsoft adds slice-'em-up to XBLA on Wednesday; Mortal Kombat adds Freddy Krueger character; Driver: SF and Madden NFL 12 demos now live.

Though the summer season is winding down, Microsoft's Summer of Arcade five-game promotion is still heating up this week on Xbox Live.

Leading the pack this week is Fruit Ninja Kinect ($10), which lands on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow. The fourth of five games in the Summer of Arcade promotion, Fruit Ninja Kinect is a motion-control-enabled version of the popular title for mobile platforms. Halfbrick's latest version of Fruit Ninja challenges players to slice up airborne produce while avoiding bombs.

Gamers looking to add a new character to NetherRealm's bloody fighting game Mortal Kombat can download Freddy Krueger (400 MS points, or $5) today on Xbox Live. Krueger will appear in Mortal Kombat with his trademark knife glove, as well as his familiar red-and-green-striped sweater and tattered hat. He'll also be outfitted with his own moveset, two unique fatalities, and a story ending for the game's arcade ladder mode.

Players looking to try before they buy can pick up two new demos on Xbox Live today. Football fans can try their hand at Madden NFL 12 via a new sampler that has players reliving the 2010-11 NFC Championship, which pitted the Chicago Bears against the Green Bay Packers at Solider Field in Illinois.

The other new demo out now is a single-player trial for Ubisoft's upcoming racing game Driver: San Francisco. Looking ahead, a multiplayer demo for the game will arrive next week. Driver: San Francisco will be released in full on September 6.

Lastly, gamers can grab new Games on Demand titles today on Xbox Live. Four new full-game downloads are now available: You Don't Know Jack ($30), World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars ($20), Record of Argarest War ($30), and Adrenalin Misfits ($40).

Good old ninjas fighting the evil corrupted fruit empire. To be fair it's a fairly fun game (for a bit). Still not the AAA games the kinect needs though for me to even consider ever buying one.

yeah from the looks of the video it seems pretty boring seems more something that should be bundled with the kinect as a freebie rather then a pay for download!

until now...only untill now am i really getting scared off where kinect is going to go. this game is horrible. i have a kinect (with lots of dust) and i dont mind the extra (optional) features that will be brought to core games, forza4, ghostrecon, mass effect, etc. but, wow this game look f word lame...like literaly...i mean that disney game is better. im mad >

I don't care about Madden anymore. I tried to keep liking it, but now, it just feels rehashed, just like what's happening to Call of Duty. But everything else on this list is looks fine, but Fruit Ninja Kinect needs to go down in price. It's $1 for the iPods and stuff, but $10 for the Xbox, and it's essentially the same thing.

LOL the guy on the right just got tired and gave up.... You cannot play some games without feedback. Your arms will get tired very quickly.

As much as I want to play fruit ninja, it's $0.99 for the phone and $10 for the xbox... Maybe when it goes on sale

You all laugh now, but that won't stop the fact that FRUIT NINJA KINECT WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE PLANET'S SOLAR SYSTEMS!!11!1 It will REVOLUTIONIZE the --- lol, I can't even keep a straight face while typing this. yeah, this is gonna suck. lmao.
