Alrighty. So, as I mentioned in another Ninja Gaiden board, I wrote an article on the changes made to Razor's Edge when compared to NG3, based on my own hands-on experience.
http://www.2d-x.com/ninja-gaiden-3-razors-edge-wii-u-it-doesnt-suck/While I do agree with many of the issues brought up by many of the other posters here on the NG3 forums, Team Ninja actually did a pretty decent job with the changes so far. I have spoken to Tecmo's PR prior to E3, and I got the impression that they are listening to feedback and at the very least
trying to make NG3 not suck.
As I said in another board, I will be checking in with Nintendo later this month, so I check do some more experimenting when I get hands-on with the game again.
Also, feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the game, and I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability. Just take note - I didn't play with the talons or scythe - just Jinran and dual K's.

It being titled "Razor's Edge" at last year's e3 makes the return of dismemberment seem all the more planned rather than part of fan feedback. Had they just announced NG3 for WiiU, it might not seem so shady of them. I can't take what they say seriously any more.
But a good writeup and good read. Thanks.

So far it seems like its only coming to the Wii-U. Is it coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 later on?

Very good read. Thank you!
It's good that they're responding to issues with the original and fixing them. Just sucks that we had to go through it lol. Their new counter technique sounds pretty interesting and i like the changes in how the ninpo system works, but what really got me happy was the return of free form combat and responsive controls.

Hmm. I don't know that PS3 or Xbox will be getting Razor's Edge. I just don't know. I can certainly ask when I see the game in a few weeks.
To be perfectly honest, though, I only see the Razor's Edge stuff going to other consoles as a "Sigma" version. And with Nintendo publishing the game, I don't see that happening anytime soon. I'm betting they have some exclusivity deal with Tecmo over the new content.
Don't quote me on that, though. I don't know.

Great article. Very informative. You pretty much touched on everything I would have had a question about.

That was a very well written article, really informative but I doubt ill buy a WiiU for it though.
Knowing we probably get a Sigma for it eventually, but then again...ill only if they vastly improve the single player campaign.

Nice article, but as you mentioned NG3 has some serious problems beyond lack of weapons, ninpo, upgrades, etc. I'm currently 3 chapters into NG3 and want to put a bullet through my brain. There's no enemy variety, and that's made even worse by the fact you can't skip past the endless waves of grunts. And the alchemist is the corniest villain ever

Hmm, it most certainly sounds like a HUGE upgrade. There's still a few things I can nag about, but at the very least it seems like it might actually deserve a spot as one of the top action games out there.

Good article although the news is disappointing. I half expected a Sigma version to emerge down the line but Razors Edge sounds like it is what the original really should have been.
The WiiU needs to show me a bit more in order to convince me to buy it. My biggest worry is that it is basically a current gen system being released at the point where we might soon be seeing the next generation of game consoles.

Its hardly an upgrade though is it, they really just putting in what Ninja Gaiden 2 had in the beginning but with a tonne of kunai climb and falcon diving here and there. They really havent put anything original and Steel on Bone isnt really amazing either and its more gimmicky then anything.
its just the Ninja Gaiden 2.5 we all wanted and should have got in the first place.

I hope we'll soon get to see whether the game has life bars for the bosses now and for the love of all that's holy Team Ninja get rid of this:
Enemy: "oh you're hitting me, wait a sec! I'll just cancel my hit/block-stun and counter you with my invincible grab"
Seriously, it was bad enough the Gelfs had it in Sigma 2, but they were just one enemy... now almost every enemy has this stupid trick >.<
