GameSpot editor Kevin Van Ord hacks and slashes through this video review of Tomonobu Itagaki's latest--and likely last--Ninja Gaiden game, Ninja Gaiden II.
Beautiful game ... but I tried at least 20 times to beat the final boss and I just can't .... it's so f'n frustrating ... Oh well, I'm taking a break from the game then restarting it...everything was cool except the final boss battle ... for me anyway ...
While I usually agree with Kevin, he gave a repetitive button masher named Assassin's Creed a 9.0 and this an 8.0.... no way I will ever agree with this.
It would b nice to see Hayate frm Dead or Alive make a grand appearence n the next installment with a split screen and online coop feature...
@Theamazing55 Yea I can understand cuz over time the Turtles got a lil too kiddy for the older fans of the 80s and early 90s.. The 1st movie had Ralph sayin "DAMN!" a few times within the moive.. And the 1st comic had them hackin and slashin with even a taste of blood n it.. But I honestly feel it could b pulled off by the right company, such as Team Ninja, they could do the Turtles some justice.. Ryu is jus all of them n one.
@DMan_Fresh85 I really can't see the Turtles in Ninja Gaiden-esque adventure. This may be because I don't have experience with the games, and only the movies and cartoons.
Tell me, who could see the Turtles like this??? I know I could... He has every weapon of the Turtles except for the sais which I want to see in the next installment...
@Theamazing55 YES!! Ive been sayin the same thing since that game came out, to me Sigma 2 feels so watered down without the gore... I would love to see the Turtles on a mature platform like Ninja Gaiden 2 cuz Ubisoft aint doin them any justice and they're losing their fan base in gaming... But Ryu is the best action game hero along with Dante and Kratos... Brutality is the key, keep it goin...
This is the hardest action/adventure game i have ever played, even on the easiest difficulty setting ,you will have a hard time.
Im not sure if i should purchase demons souls cause everyone talks about how its like realy hard. could anyone let me know if its as challenging as ninja gaiden 2
i hate how they took out all the gore in Sigma 2, that was one of the most enjoyable parts of the game.
Ninja Gaiden II is truly an awesome game with some of the most impressive visuals to be found ever in a ninja-based action game. The camera remains in an awkward position at times like it has always been in the Ninja Gaiden series but it's still a very gory and interesting game which is quite challenging too.
@MetalMan300 but still trust me the purple mist is getting really lame and boring! and imo i didnt like the girls at all! i prefer to play with Ryu all the time!
@MALMSTEEN4774 Being a huge 360 fanboy, I'll admit I'm actually jealous of you PS3 owners. I'm not a huge fan of gore, and you get more characters, slightly better graphics, and multiplayer?? Awesomeness! The only reason the 360 might be better to me in some peoples eyes is maybe the gore and that its definately harder than the PS3 one. But honestly, I'd take a slightly easier game with more stuff and less gore over a frustrating game that our version can be! :P
im kinda jealous. ...coz i got ps3.. .which the ps3 version. . .i want the gore! and i dont wanna play with the girls :s i want Ryu all the way! but damn this version looks better than the ps3 version! :(
why do people see god of war a original game like when new games come out they compare them to god of war. castlevania, onimusha, ninja gaiden, and mortal kombat fatalities are originals. you can see gameplay elements in the games I've name and see them in god of war. and one more thing just like devil may cry series god of war is the easy game I've ever played and I've beat them on there hardest levels. and one more thing ninja gaiden is the best action game ever made and will ever be made even when i beat the game on master ninja i still wanted to play it now i've played through it on master ninja 5 times good times
i love the first one on xbox but this one was so freaking repetitive, it was the same fight style throw out the entire game, and the graphic didnt change much, but damn was it repetitive, the first one you can do combos that are good fast or slow, big and etc. on bad guyz, say if u dont button mash, then it just takes long, but this one its all button mashing
@YamaBushi13 The very first Ninja Gaiden was an arcade game then it was on the NES, after a long hiatus Ninja Gaiden and NG Black came out EXCLUSIVELY for XBOX. What I'm trying to say here is that NG Sigma was the first NG game on a sony console... so actually Sony is doing with Sigma 2 what you thought Microsoft was doing with NG 2. This makes you a Troll! (I know it was posted a year ago but I couldn't help it  )
What about the storyline? Does the game have any? Big flaw with this review even though it's an action game.
Ninja gaiden black is sweet I'm playing it at the moment then I'm going to get a 360 so I can play 2.
i will continue collecting red orbes for the 11 or 12 ipos enemies willl be afraid ... next week ... schuordg
me too i finish all dificulties in the mentor dificulty i come for the 10 ninpos for atack in the master ninja i go for the 6 nipos anyone know which is the max of ninpos can carry
i'd played this game and its so very hard...i cant finished it because chapter 14, all boss are there..
Ninja Gaiden 1 was on nr 1 of top ten hardest game(i think)...so u shouldn't realy expect that this one is a pice of cake :)
I own Xbox 360, i have seen Ninja Gaiden Sigma on PS3. Sigma is better. I want to play this one but i am not going to spend nearly £300 for the PS3 just for 1 game. I will wait for the PS3 emulator to come to the PC then i will get this game
Actually, this makes sure people liking challenge (like myself) get a real kick in the spine. And yes, rockets are a pain. In the Russian episode I think me and my cousin (7 years older than me, more advanced gamer) repeated the beginning at least 20 times. And we got killed every time because 5 rockets kept stunning us.
why do team ninja make ninja gaiden always hard? do they think that the game wil be more succesful? btw this punishing diffulty is gona make less ppl buy the game cuz after all most ppl wont be able to finish
I'm sorry to break the news to you man but Microsoft has been spending millions of dollars to make this game and others exclusive...
Let me re-phrase what I said earlier. The Tekken and Devil May Cry series have been brought to the 360 (i.e Tekken 6 and DMC4). OK, this is cool. Sharing is caring. So what does Play Station get in return? We got Ninja Gaiden Sigma, not bad, can we get the sequel, Ninja Gaiden 2, please? Don't make me beg. I am not purchasing the 360 for 1 game... :0(
