Honestly, tablets will rule next generation which is why Nintendo made their console gamepad a tablet. Smart move and with further wireless integration, well be able to play console level games on the move, too bad for the PS Vita, no chance it can compete now.

Sony was essential back in the Tape and CD player era. They also made some of the greatest TVs. Lately, Sony is not the one to innovate. They tried with the UMDs and Blue-Ray, but they didn't catch on. They lost the Mp3, tablet and phone markets so they're basically playing catch-up, even in the gaming industry. Motion gaming became a thing with the Wii. What did they do? Replicated it in almost the same exact format. Their exclusives games are something to behold but I wouldn't call them innovations in their associated genres. Hopefully they have a clear vision now and the motivation to pursue it. I would hate for Sony to be out of the business.

 @thetravman The only thing I don't agree with is about Blu-Ray. It won the format war.

Other than that, you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

So what now everyone is going to copy the Wii U controller ?

Playstation doesn't make the variety of gamesit used to, brings out rare gems like god of war, but they tend to be kinda short lived, sony was amazing during the ps2 era, I barely hve any games for the ps3, not enough to be noticed, yet have a ton of great fun games on the 360...They just dont make enough great games anymore, they get more port stuff than their own games.

Says the CEO of a company who have basically used the same controller for the last 3 generations.... yep, that's innovating for you.

 @TTDog Maybe watch the video before you comment. Anyways I think it's good that the control system remains fundamentally the same. Third-party developers are always scared of new generations of systems because that means they have to start new with a foreign system and develop a brand new engine on top of that. That's why many third-party games during the beginning of the Wii's lifespan didn't utilize the motion sensing or the control system as well as they could have. Even the PS3's motion control system and graphical powerhouse proved to be overwhelming for developers. With a familiar system, developers can focus less on adapting to new rules and more on delivering solid games.

 @CountZurich Over-whelming... or Over-hyped?

@CountZurich: Hype has plenty to do with it... Sony call for innovation but are known for failing to deliver all the innovations and power they claim pre-release. If they delivered what they promise then maybe they'd be in a better place from which to try and lecture others.

 @TTDog Hype has nothing to do with what I'm saying. Stop trying to bring console wars into this.

 @TTDog That's why he's saying the need to innovate. He knows they can't keep doing the same thing over and over again. He said thy did the same thing with the first three PlayStations but now that has to change.

So does this mean we'll be watching the news on GameSpot from now on instead of reading about it?
