sorry but this is a terrible score for a really good game. terrific pacing great platforming and an average combat system. This is a poor review

the ending of this game was like action movie style.. i mean the final boss fight.. in air.. high..

@Albino494 this game is meant to be more similar to the sands of time than the warrior within, and the sands of time didn't have blood in it. This game is trying to get back to the roots of the series, and those roots aren't in blood and gore.

Jtm371
Jtm371

@koolrok The sands of time was rated T, this games takes place after that game and before the warrior within, so it makes sense for it to be rated T, they wanted it to be more like the sands of time than the warrior within.

Im glad that this franchise has returned to familiar territory but im still wondering what has happened to the deep combat from the last 2 in the Sands of Time Trilogy.

Albino494

This series has changed, and I'm not sure I like it... Where is the bloody, deep combat system? The PoP franchise looks like it has turned much more child friendly...

pop 08 wasnt very good. this one looks way better

i agree with gliave, AC2 is overrated and POP is underrated

I am actually playing this game now and contrary to what the review suggests its actually quite a lot of fun. Feels more close to the Sands of Times than any other new age Prince of Persia games. Camera angles is a slight issue as it is slightly difficult to find the secrets.

I hate this reviewer. Wish he'd stop reading his reviews because anything positive he says sounds really boring because of the way he says it.

shame the good platforming wasnt matched with a good storyline and combat. was considering buying this but i think platforming alone doesnt merit a purchase, espically as i already own assassins creed 2 and am frankly quite sick now with all the climbing and jumping around...lol loved the first ever prince of persia the sands of time tho

nice game , But 2 Things pissed me off 1-The Controls 2-a Really Stupid glitch: I was Finishing The Game and i got locked in a room because of a glitch good thing i had a back up save on the 360 and deleted the one i was using

The problem isn't how bad this is,it's how awesome Warrior Within was...they'll need some reeeaaal creatives to come up with a storyline that'll beat that one.I mean let's face it,if the story and the gameplay suck you in,the graphics and frame rate are just an added bonus

crappy unresponsive controls, ugly graphics, crappy fighting mechanics and the game is soooooooooo easy u will not die once the puzzles are so easy. crappy game dont get this. pop 2008 is graphically superior and plays better than this. the guy run and jumps in a weird way. rush BS game. dont get it

Gliave

Oh and Assassin's Creed 2?.. Now THAT was overrated. AC died when Altair stopped existing.

Okay this game, is HIGHLY underrated... They virtually fixed the sluggish run / jump / acrobatics noticed in the early installments. The platform / puzzle combos are genius, especially the spike traps, u'd think they couldn't improve it but they really did. Combat could've been better, but it could've been way worse. Mini bosses were pretty easy, but it didn't steal from the atmosphere at all. Though it's a short game too, it was immensely satisfying. If they had focused a bit more on certain aspects btw, and went over the top, it probably would've been a viable contender of GoW's. Thanks for gettin the scarey platformin' back. Sure missed it, and great plot and atmosphere. P.S: Last boss stage design and setting kicked balls.

the last 2 prince of persias sucked and were terrible. why cant they make more prince of persia games like the two thrones. and yah i dont know what your talking about sguint-eyed

sguint-eyed
sguint-eyed

in the end this game didn't seem so bad as expected...hell, imo it even beats the horrible two thrones... but it could so much better if the main character (prince) would look like a monkey and would have such an annoing voice...

Perhaps Ubispoft is starting to learn from its mistakes...not with this game hell no this game is horrible! But as for Assasin's Creed they say they are gonna let it breathe, give Ezio a rest and take their time to see what can be done with the franchise

@ tariq393 I agree. If they want to make a POP game now, they have to make a solid one which has everything especially combat and story. Else they should stop with POP and let it rest in peace...

tariq393
tariq393

no seriously,, this game is enjoyable but i would not compare it in anyway with warrior within because it has such a shallow story and weak combat..WW had an amazing story especially when you travel back in time to change the course of events! plus, the great combat though it felt glitchy sometimes and lastly the dahaka. but i think it's about time they stop PoP games for good and focus on assassin's creed 3

Albino494
Albino494

i think if i had to choose between this and the other prine of persia on PS3, then i would choose the other one. looks more interesting and the graphics look cooler on the other one. this just looks like a really dumbed down version of warrior within :(

Albino494

these things keep being rated PG... the sands of time trilogy was MA so theyre looking to me more kid friendly and childish... :S

I played the first three, which were an enjoyable experience, and that other one (dare not be named) was a huge dissapointment and total let down, so I don't know about this one. Might, might not.

Wish they would have done a better job at creating this game, however, still looks pretty respectable and for a fan of the previous games, I don't see why this would not be a fun game to play =)

@Zeron_X25 Then don't play the game if you think it portrays stereotypes. But beyond that, who cares. If you look to video games to be historically accurate on all levels you might as well wait for pigs to fly. It's called artistic license. Assassin's Creed was based on the Crusades but was ultimately grossly inaccurate on many levels (historically speaking.) So what? It was a great game, just like the PoP series is awesome. Maybe you should park your indignation over this. It's a video game, not a history book.

This is probably the best movie tie-in game ever. That's not really saying much though.

baltim123
baltim123

this with warrior within combat would've probably been superb. The combat just looks boring easy and cartoony, in warrior within you had cool acrobatic moves and combo's and needed to block counter and dodge attacks to win the fights.

Nice review.. The camera has always been an issue in all Pop games, so it's not a big drawback. I'm getting this game;)

@brewed100 I hear where you coming from brother, and I agree with you. But the main reason why I reckon the franchise needs an overhaul is because I feel that consumers would like to see something other than a Sand of Time game again. Take the 2008 Prince of Persia, had nothing to do with the Sands of Time. Combat was changed to fighting one foe instead of hordes. It was a different pace of game, a different Prince and a different storyline. And people loved it! Think about it this way: If your favorite food was pizza for example, imagine having to eat it every single day for the rest of your life. After a while you wouldnt want to look at pizza again! The same applies to the Sands of Time series. Its a properly awesome series of games. I loved them! But its been 4 games already; with the same Prince, the same underlying story, more or less the same characters. I dont know about you, but it would be awesome to see something different! A different Prince's story of magic and so on. I just feel that they're milking the series, NOT the franchise, and it hurts because I really love Prince of Persia! I think you better PM me on your responce, we may just clog up this comments section haha!

LOL: looks like UbiSoft decided to head back to the original action-platforming of the early "Sands of Time" games. Just wish the combat was up to par.
