Ridge Racer Unbounded Video Review

Long time Ridge Racer fan, hate the Need for Speed and Burnout influence. Midnight Club 3 did the same thing. Bleh..

Been there done that... seriously nothing new. This would have been good 5 years ago. If you want good arcade go with Burnout Paradise it is still better option.

This game is in my backlog like so many others. I look forward to it though, I love a good racing game, on my PC/PC Wheel.

I have this on PC (SLI GeForce 555) no problems yet. (Steam version).

Think I'll go read the review instead, 'his' voice is ...hard to listen to. No offense, there's something about everyone that annoys others. Actually, it's the accent.

@MustSeeMelons I installed the PC version on two different PCs (1 Radeon & 1 GForce) and could not get rid of frame rate dips, flickering during takedown sequences, and other assorted graphial glitches. Anyone know if it's a PC thing? I might buy it on 360 if these problems are non existent.

I got this game the day it came out. It's fun, but not better than Burnout. City making feature is awesome, my drifting maps got about 30000 population. Make sure you give it a try, it's only $40 right now. However, it's really hard to find people online to play with. BUY THIS GAME I NEED SOMEONE TO PLAY WITH. PLEASE ;-)

Dissapointed, gets booring very fast.. mixing so many games together - not a good idea + the PC version is just plain pathetic, you can choose from resolution and anisotropy. Pop-ups all the way.

I don't really play too many Ridge Racer or Burnout games, but I thought Ridge Racer was Burnout until someone in the comments mentioned Burnout, then I was like 'wtf!' cause I thought this game was the Burnout series that I played once before, lololol.

There was no mention of local multiplayer. I don't know why every racing game is leaving it out these days, for me it's the only reason I would play a racing game.

This looked cool till I realized Bugbear the people that make flatout games made it. I'll pass.

Way better the Ridge Racer Vita.

This is definitely not as good as advertised. It's not a bad game, but definitely not as flowery as the review would have it.

Glad to hear that the game is good, at least from this review. I'm even more interested in playing "Unbounded" now! I just wish Namco had dropped the "Ridge Racer" part of the title: this game has little or nothing to do with the original "RR" series.

I was disappointed by NFS.. But RR has been fun so far..

@DriftEJ20 Yeah its also funny most people complained about the dubstep in Syndicate while the game's soundtrack was mostly instrumental.

Hmm, it does looks nice, but at the same time it doesn't really scream out 'Buy me!'. I would have to rent it first, see if it's worth buying. Blur was fun and I loved Burnout Paradise, but would this game be as enjoyable as those were or a pale shadow? I'll place it on my rental list in Lovefilm and try it if it's sent in almost two weeks time when my monthly rental time is active at that time.

Idk why people hate on dubstep so much. A lot of times its appropriate, a lot of times it's just used because it's popular. Dubstep made tons of sense in Syndicate's atmosphere, and didn't have much business being in the Far Cry 3 trailer, so yeah it's hit and miss. I think a game like Wipeout should have trance or electro house, DMC should always be metal, etc. But people shouldn't be so quick as to lump any use of dubstep as being a trend whore. I'd honestly rather listen to that than a thousand songs by The Killers and Rise Against in every EA racer. I find lyrical music distracting in fast racing games like these.

Why so much hate toward dubsteps? Looking at the action in this gameplay-video i cant think of other soundtrack that can match the atmosphere. I personally like it. My subwoofer finally had to do some work unlike with many other shallow-tin-wannabe-orchestra(FF13)-japan pop(SF 4)-uninspiring-soundtracks.I like (game)music with some impact(hard or soft) and since Wipeout(hard) and Lost Odyssey(soft) i havent heard such lately.

I know this is off topic but, does anyone remember the rally car arcade game with an overhead view where you had to spin the wheel like crazy to drift through turns? That game was the $h!!!!!!T!

hmm maybe, for me need for speed most wanted has always been my favorite, i might have to try this though
