This game was originally thought out to be much less slapstick than the previous one, and look at it now.
In Saints Row, there is just random crazy chaos, while in GTA IV there is everything. Aygol, not only does that sound like you're in a cult (in GTA IV you will find all your desires..join ussss) it lacks..well everything. The games are similar but SR just feels so much more creative and fun, you never know what will happen next and that's what keeps me playing through it over and over. GTA IV isn't bad and I know some prefer it, its a matter of taste and that's that, but SR is in no way a bad game.
enough cpmparing gta 4 with SR. I know what i like better and no comment is gonna change it. i hope they fix that terrible vehicle handling in the third one and maybe add some physics?

You know I will admit I am a HUUUUUUGE fan of GTA series. After all it was the first in free style gaming but still I say you can't compare these two games. Yes they have the same style but they are totally different. GTA is more based on realistic actual stuff. Saints Row is more based on just plain fun. I will continue to buy GTA and I will also continue to buy Saints Row. Just keep making them both and I will be happy. I am also a HUUUUUUUUUUGE Saints Row fan.
I still got more fun outta SR2 than GTA IV. Honestly R* just needs to make San Andreas for 360 with the same engine as GTA IV and I will be alright.
This game put gtaiv to shame despite the graphics. They keep it classic and fun when R* tries to be all realistic, way more gun selection in SR2, much better gameplay and a huge variety of missions. GTAIV got so boring after playing it twice and ive already beat SR2 3 times.

I'd rather go bowling. I'd rather go to cabaret with a friend. I'd rather watch TV within the game I'm playing on my TV. I'd actually rather do all of these things than play Saints Row 2.
They maade an effort to make GTA4 look cheesy and I tell you it might work. The game really adds the dimension of being bad, really really bad, and I like it. 8)

Aygol, wtf why so agressive? Gta couldn't be the only game that is urban sandbox. It's like saying that forza is a grand turizmo nock off. And the video isn't saying that gta and saints should be compared. the video is trying to distance its self from gta's shadow.
I loved the first saints, and I loved gta all the way from gta 3, but I think that they are way too different to judge which is better. If I had to choose I would choose saints 2 because I like there to be humor in a game.
I still prefer GTA IV, no matter what. People who agree with me know what i'm talking about. It's not about better graphics or features. It's like trying to beat the Max Payne games. It's just impossible. Period. Same for the GTA series imo.
GTA "Is" a better franchise than Saints Row, however the latest GTA is seriously lacking & the latest Saints Row has cained it. Once Rockstar relise the latest edition of GTA lacked sevrely then im sure the next GTA will reclaim the crown it rightfully owns... But until then, SR2 can wear the crown.

6 million in one day compared to 600k, this game needs a lot of advertising to get the mass amount of customers to buy this game looks promising though.
aygol. Chill out. This ad definitely wasn't the developers idea. Saints Row shines in its own sense. Granted, the concept is a pretty direct rip-off of GTA, but how can one game claim an entire genre of open world urban combat?

Shame on them for being the least creative company that blatantly copies a masterpiece. Saints Row doesn't deserve to be compared to GTA IV because it doesn't even come close in any way. for everyone who says this will own GTAIV, keep this in mind.... GTAIV was developed before SR2! and who cares if it's got more crap than GTA IV. It's all about preference, if you like senseless mayhem then pick up sr2 but if you like gritty storytelling and dark humor then pick up gtaiv...

I've been a fan of GTA for years, and it seems the game has matured (to me the game still lives up to its original expectations) the story was spot on, the graphics were greatly improved and the playability was there. With Saints row 2 it seems alot like GTA of old, with the cartoon-ish visuals and random chaos, would I have bought GTA if it had came out after Saints row? Yes as to me these two games have headed off in two different directions both proving they are awesome at what they do, can't wait to play SR2 now. (Essay ftw!)
GTA4 is a great game, sure, but Saints Row seems to really be willing to deliver on the chaos. I think they've got me convinced!
