I really love this biographical format on the history of final fantasy though it does seem a bit quick. Still yet lot of laughs. Oh and as for the PoS spam malware poster just below I hope you go off and die right after seeing your junk rot off from the std I am sure you mom gave you.

Again great video show, keep up the good work :)

They did not really mention FF4's important contribution to the series as far as plot goes. FF4 was the first game to have a - dare I say it, epic - cinematic storyline.

'Who better to help than a jackass who knows nothing about the series?' Um, millions of people?

FF4 (DS), FF6 (GBA), FF7 (PS1/PSP via PSN) and FFX (PS2) are my favs in the series. FF6 (GBA) keeps my DS Lite rockin'.

Some Final Fantasy video games highly deserves more sells like the ones that are more action oriented.

Yes, Mr. Ad, I will definitely buy the 3DS in lieu of the Vita, which comes out in 2 weeks... because Nintendo makes the best games. *sarcasm*

@dannyodwyer @Bozanimal Growing up in the 90s, we always called them the "Nintendo" and "Super Nintendo." Or, mostly, we called them "NES" and "SNES," as in we actually spelled it out. Sometimes we even called it the "Super NES." Of course, this is in Rhode Island, and in the early 90s when I was a kid. Who knows what they call it in other states or in the UK. We NEVER called them "Nez" or "Snez." When he said it, I was like "Say what?!"

Final Fantasy II & III(US version) always has a special place in my heart since thats why got me hooked onto the series in the first place. i dont know how many times I beat those games over and over again when i was younger. I think i bought every strategy guide for III cuz i wanted to make sure i got all the secret items and stuff lol...what a waste of money since they all had the same stuff in them

FF7 is the best but FF6 is pretty good.

@Face_Lost you didn't watch the video did you? Mark does this guide not Danny. Bluffers guide is quite popular, Danny is Irish not Brittish. Either your new here or just as your profile name says..you are lost.

Face_Lost
Face_Lost

Some Brit with really lame jokes involving movie titles who has never played any FF games is making a guide to all the FF games...

@dannyodwyer - The closest I've heard was, phonetically, "ess-ness," but I can understand where you English blokes might harbor a fondness for Dr. Seuss. Or maybe South Park? There's a snuke in the snez! :P

Frame11
Frame11

huh honestly, I have to play the snes games though my favorites since ps1 are with no order FFVIII FFX. sadly when I was young ffvii wasn't in my style of gaming but later ffviii got my attention and I never was able to go backwards in graphics technology unless I have played them when I was a child such as marios and stuff. With this video, I guess I have to do some ff homework. But no matter what you say FFVIII was dark and FFX dreamy.

isn't the SNES's full name "super nintendo entertainment system" anyway? so our 'SNES' is technically more accurate than purely "super nintendo"?! I think this is one of those times i should keep my 'i hate america's abuse of my language' voice quiet.... NVM!

"A Brief History of...." "Attract women with knowledge of..." bit long and waffty that one maybe :P

Those were respectable jRPGs and Final Fantasy VI is definely the best one in the series. The Final Fantasy series died with the Super Nintendo.

I take it "A 'Bluffering' Guide to Final Fantasy" would fall under the clause? Thoiugh I'd really prefer you guys fight for it. Could use 2:07 for censoring in the mean time...

Grim_Reaper007

Ahhhh FFIV and FFVI... best in the series by far. Great times I had with it on snes, gba, and psx (even with its added load times). and for teh series name suggestion "A totally rad guide to [game name]"

There is not that many if you skip 10, 10-2, 11, 13- and 13-2.

SolanOcard

TOO SHORT. This should be 13 parts, 20 if you include Tactics, Crystal Cronicals, Mystic Quest and the game Boy FF Legends series (the last two are not even actually final fantasy games. Who ever names these games is stupid, especially if it was to PREVENT confusion bring games to NA!!!!) Call the series "A Plagiarized guide to: WHATEVER" even if it is all original material!

here you go: " The fine guide to [insert name here]" I'll gladly accept a badge, thank you.

not to steal off CyberByte727 since he kind of alluded to it but why not call it the Blarney guide. It doesn't have your name in it and it tips its hat to us Irish folk.

wolfbm

@dannyodwyer see growing up and currently i've always heard it said and pronounced it SNES and NES (rather than saying on here phonetically we always said it letter by letter S.N.E.S) I think it's cool how you guys say it to since it's basically like the difference between calling Coke or Pepsi soda or pop.

dannyodwyer
dannyodwyer moderatorstaff

@Bozanimal Over this side of the pond we always call them the "nez" and "snez". Do you guys really call them by their full names?! Gotta same time man!

Bozanimal
Bozanimal ranger

@dannyodwyer - Alright, obviously I enjoyed the video, but when did we stop calling the SNES the "Super Nintendo" and start calling it something that rhymes with Pez? :P

dannyodwyer
dannyodwyer moderatorstaff

@CyberByte727 Blustering? Dude, I'm trying to forget about the weather back home! ;) - I think the name isn't meant to have my name in it, you know - So if I'm shot dead tomorrow the series can continue :P

CyberByte727
CyberByte727

@dannyodwyer I've just had a trawl through the thesaurus for b******r - how does O'Dwyer's Blustering Gaming Guide grab you? You'll notice that I've even thrown in some alliteration for free. Sure, us Irish lads all have the blarney, eh?!

CyberByte727

I'm with you Danny - never played any of the FF series, and not really pushed about trying them now. Good guide as always though.

I agree Final Fantasy 6/3 (US) was the best in my opinion. But Chrono Trigger takes #1 in my book. FF6 takes #2. SNES had some of the best RPGs Secret of Mana & Evermore, FF2/4(US), and many others... I wish rpg makers now a days would focus on the depth these games had. I felt love for characters in those days. What happened? To much focus on graphics maybe? I miss good rpgs.

@rasputin177 it was re-released for PSX and comes with 5. You can also get it on PSN if you have a ps3.
