You can't see it but my fingers are crossed that there is something decent in the way of mechs and hardware in store, you know, like something Mechwarrior can't proffer, still stuck as they are behind the mechs they 'borrowed' from franchises that had a lot more savvy.

GameSpot Asia's Jonathan Toyad and Randolph Ramsay unleashes online heavy metal in this early closed beta session of the upcoming mech action PC title.
The link on the front page is screwed up. Here is the link to MW:O lets play.

And no, not paying does not give me or any other player who ( I call it) donated, any in-game special abilites or leverage over the average non paying player. Iv gotten my arse handed to me more times than I can count. Ok... now Im done.
To jump start the success of MW:O, it is the ONLY game (and I'm 27yrs old) the ONLY game that I saw fit to drop $120.00 for the Legendary Founders Package. I did it to show my support for developers of Free to Play games. I did it because I grew up playing MechWarrior 2-4. And I did because I want the game to grow.
How disrespectful. To confuse "COD with robots" with the legend that is MechWarrior!!! Im sure this mistake was made by someone who was not born in '85
This is Hawken NOT MechWarrior Online lol....both mech games, Both VERY different games. one is COD on crack 'Hawken' and the other is a slow moving tactical game, one life gameover, Heavy on Team Work. Both FREE 2 PLAY
Now hold on a second. The link said this was Now Playing: Mechwarrior Online. Mechwarrior Online is neither this episode nor does it even have an entry on the episode list.
As quality as Hawken looks, sort it out GS.
@Hairygrim Yeah, I was hoping to see Mechwarrior, and I got a different game entirely.

I thought this was supposed to be Mechwarrrior online. However, I am interested in Hawken as well.
Wow, what's with the hate. It's better than a lot of the commentary going around. They're talking about game play, going through the features, who cares how well they're doing or how well they controlled the mechs - you're not watching a montage.
Gamespot please.....are you falling appart or something? What's the matter with you people?
1)This guy doesnt even know left from right.2)You're previewing (or whatever this is) an FPS PC game and you're playing it with gamepad.....?
Are you guys for real?
@GeorgeSyllDid we say we were playing on a gamepad?
@RandolphRam It certainly looks like playing on gamepad. Horrible aim and choppy movement.
If you're not playing on gamepad.....then never ever play an FPS game. Seriously that was embarassing. Its like you can't control the damn mouse.
But i'm quite sure you are playing on gamepad. There is no person in the world that controls a mouse like that.At least no person that's over 4 years old.
And learn left from right.
@GeorgeSyll Well, if you say so. Thanks for the advice!

@Gelugon_baat Front page says this is closed beta for Mechwarrior: Online...a game I'm actually interested in.
@Gelugon_baat Well, I know it's not actually false-advertising. I just like being dramatic.
@Gelugon_baat Unless, the mech they're playing is called "Hawken"...in which case they should elaborate.
Contrary to Jonathan and Randolph's commentary, radar is NOT based on sound, it's based on radio waves. Come on now.
Played in alpha. It was fun. Plus, you have plenty of customization options to pimp out your mech.
Man comparing this game to COD may not be the best way to get people interested in it (well, at least not me anyways...)
He said this isn't strategy-based like Mechwarrior Online, it's more arcade. Arcade?!? Arcade is used to describe simplistic gameplay that won't hold your attention for long. How is this an arcade game? This looks like a sim more than anything. As much as Gamespot tries to act like the voice for real gamers, they sure do sound like casual gamers out of the loop...
P.S.- I hate that real-time tactics don't carry as much respect as turn-based strategy. One is based off of abstract representations of real-life, the other is based off of REAL LIFE! Hmmm, I wonder which one is more realistic and challenging, then?
@gunnplay You obviously have issues. You need to calm down, take some time away from the PC, go have some real life fun and educate yourself.
Hawken is arcade. You must be the only person in the whole world who thinks its a sim.
P.S.- You make absolutely no sense. I think you're commenting on the wrong video.
@gunnplay We mean arcade in terms of easier pick-up and playability (certainly vs MechWarrior Online). And sim? A fast-paced giant robot shoot-em-up with FPS-like controls? Um, ok. If you say so.
I was in the closed beta about a month ago, was a pretty fun game, customization was cool.
I thought this looked like Killzone 3 quite alot when I saw it first, never heard of it before this video, cool stuff.
There is this taboo with free to play games especially from strict console players. Free to play IMO, is the developers way of saying "Hey, we want to make a really good game, but help support us with a donation in return we will show you our appreciaition with continued updates, balance and a quality game experience." Granted a lot of games want to prosper off the kid living in moms basement who will pay to win, so he plays those games. Understand though, that good quality games like MW:O (I paid for the $120.00 founders package) simply give you the option to play, and I CHOSE too, because I believe in the games success, not because of better perks to help me win more...Im definitely not getting any favors by paying. True player choice, and in retrospect, the developers of free to play games are taking a big risk doing such a thing because they have to eat too. Thank you for not forcing me to pay $60.00 up front for a game I may or may not like as much as you say, in return, by CHOICE, you received more from me where I could have given none and still been fine.
I hope this and MechWarrior are different enough to be successful simultaneously. I'm rooting for both games for nostalgic reasons. Also, they look awesome!
