1 Like This is a really cool game. There are few games that can churn your stomach even when you're winning. The minimalistic, dehumanizing interface is really great too. They could've smacked you over the head with gruesome images of nuclear war, but they went with a cold death toll and blips on a screen. Somehow the extreme disconnection from the effects of your actions makes the implications of what you're doing so much more sickening.

Yeah I always liked this game, much more deep and satisfying than Superpower 2 which looked very busy but was actually unbelievably shallow. I'd much rather this bare-minimum but incredibly intricate take on nuclear warfare.
reminds me of a board game called SUPREMACY (which played like a Risk with a stock exchange, resources and tech research plus nuclear weapons).
if 12 territories were nuked in the game, the game simply ended. NO WINNERS. EVERYBODY LOSES.
Reminds me of balance of power, who played that back in the day? Would make a good random encounter :).
3 Like @Dudeinator Probably because it's a game that actively encourages you to create a nuclear holocaust for the sake of entertainment.
You should play it, it's so much fun.
@Vozlov@DudeinatorThis is why lawmakers don't understand games. They think this kind of thing will make people MORE likely to want a nuclear war when it actually makes you incredibly uncomfortable with the concept. More so, arguably, than those same politicians.
Amazing game. Nothing better than gloating to your enemies about wiping off millions from their civilian populations while you ready your submarines off their coasts for the second strike.

The music has a heavy air about it: constantly reminding you how terrible this all is. I find it very strange.
@cornbredxIt would be more weird if the game had happy music like Entry Of The Gladiators playing in the background...Now that would be weird.
need to go back and try this one again seeing as theres so little else to play lately.
God this seems likes an amazing historical game; so other game suggestions are Bulletstorm [2011] and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc [2003].
